OK, who here that grew up in the '80s went to see it. I did, and it was awesome...like taking a high tech step back into my childhood. I can't wait for the sequels!

It was cool to have the same voice over for Optimus Prime. Too bad the person who did Starscream passed away... :tear:

Many Christian comic and cartoon officiandos or whatever have gotten very very upset about it (see thread(s) in the fan section of www.christiancomics.net for starters). I personally don't want to see it due to all the marketing scrooges like BK taking advantage of it...

It was heavy on sponsorship, I'll say that (GM and ebay was EVERYWHERE)!

Since I cannot open the link at work, what was there to be upset about other then the marketing?

I haven't read the reviews. I saw the trailers. They looked incredible.

I used to watch Transformers all the time. Yet the movie hasn't really appealed to me. Usually those things are let downs to me. I may see it when it comes to DVD.

If you liked the cartoon, you will like the movie.

Both my kids LOVED the movie. One has seen it twice, the other three times.

According to them, this is the best movie of the summer.

Do any of you all find it ironic that some of us will blast Evan Almighty but go see Transformers. I have not seen either one - Evan Almighty based on the general reviews, Transformers because I'm 50 and dont have kids or grandkids in that demographic. But if I were looking for an essentially clean movie for some mindless entertainment - I would go see both.

Transformers looks fun - I will probably rent it, Evan will have to wait until it comes on Stars

I had read a review for it and it claimed that the movie was poorly done and was nothing but a glorified car commercial. I've only seen the previews. I may see it once it hits DVD... not sure yet.

I would rather just have the old cartoons on DVD. :D

I didn't even get a chance to watch the cartoon, but anyway many TF fans complained that the robot designs were terribly done, and a lot other alterations to the origional Transformers made them attack the director directly in his blog or whatever...anyway I don't really mind for that kind of thing usually...'cept for Underdog and Alvin and the Chimpmunks which look terrible!

What dorks! As a dork myself, I thought they were way better than the cartoon version, afterall, they are supposed to be aliens...not robby the robot who turns into a camaro.

I see no connection between Evan Almighty and Transformers whatsoever.

    I saw the movie tonight.

It was interesting. Action packed. Smash em up. Interesting take on the Hoover dam.

Yeah, the Hoover dam storyline was pretty innovative...
