I have been the one asking you the same question from the get-go: Cite the author of the quote. It makes you look bad to constantly avoid a reasonable question. Is the question too humbling for you Van? Why?
Put your big boy pants on and answer an easy question.

Material false statements are your stock and trade to derail topic discussions and go for fiction.

I said nothing false in post #21, whereas you have engaged in falsehood after falsehood Van.

RR simply posts off topic slander. He is being allowed to derail yet another discussion of biblical truth.

If we consider the Greek New Testament as the "plaintext" and our English translation as the "ciphertext" would we find examples of encryption? In WWII the Allies changed the names of Greenland and Iceland to confuse the enemy. In the NT we have two different places (Gehenna and Hades) changed to one name (Hell) in some translations. We get different Greek words translated into the same English word and the same Greek word meaning translated into several different English words or phrases.

And while some of these encryptions might be necessary, they could be reduced using modern digital technology.

The question is: What is the hold-up? In our current "supply chain problem" some blame the powerful unions who prevent improved efficiency to protect jobs. Or some software creators leave bugs so as to ensure future work. 2.0 anyone?

    Colossians 1:23 (interpretive translation)
Since you are persisting in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Thus the proof of being reconciled is persisting in the faith and not shifting from the hope of the gospel! Our eternal security is provided by God protecting our credited faith, so we are unable to not persist if we are born anew.

Indeed, what is the hold-up Van? Why protect the identity of the author? Are you ashamed? Who is the person in question?
You know that you are violating BB rules in not citing the name of quoted material.

On and on this ploy of the endless question is allowed. Why allow this "change the subject" destruction of discussion. What is going on here?

(snip)? You put up a "quote" and don't have the nerve to identify the author. My request is very reasonable. You avoidance in not answering the simple question is cowardly.

The above doesn't even qualify as a sentence.

Commentaries that indicate "since" is the best translation choice for "eige" in Colossians 1:23

Here our bible scholar does not realize the sentence starts at Colossians 1:21. I kid you not. Ask yourselves why is this person posting, if not to derail discussion?

Identify your sources. Cite the author at least. Do not merely say "Commentaries that indicate..." A reasonable question to ask is what commentaries? Who is the author? Why do feel it is necessary to protect the identity? Why do you flout the rules of the BB time and time again Van?

    Yet another Commentary snippet:
Here the word for "if" can rightly be rendered "if so be," and it is followed by a verb in the indicative mood. In other words, there is no doubt about it. We can supply the ellipsis: "If ye continue in the faith (which you will assuredly do)." What we have here, then, is a definite loyalty. Paul is not casting doubt on our salvation; he is simply saying that a person who is genuinely saved will most assuredly continue in the faith. It is not a question of "if you do this or that," you will be saved; it is a question of "because you are saved," you will do this or that. (Exploring Colossians)

Since you are persisting in the faith appears to be a recognized understanding of Colossians 1:23, and therefore the more common translation choice should be challenged as not conforming to the context. So yet another example of encryption rather than decryption.
