Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wiped her private email server clean and did not turn over a single new email to the House Select Benghazi Committee after it subpoenaed Clinton’s private emails, according to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who chairs the Committee.
Gowdy said he learned on Friday that Clinton “unilaterally decided to wipe her server clean and permanently delete all emails from her personal server.”
“While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the Secretary to return her public record to the Department,” he said in a statement.
Gowdy, saying that Clinton should not be able to essentially grade her own papers, had also requested that Clinton turn over her server to a third-party arbiter, but Clinton refused. Gowdy has said that Congress may take legal action to get Clinton’s server, and he said that he and the House leadership are considering the “next steps” in the matter.

 Why did they even waste time with this?

This is HILLARY. Did they really think she was gonna just roll over and say "Here's the ammo. Now shoot"?

If it can be proved she wiped the hard drive after she was subpoenaed to release it, isn't that a high crime? How do liberals always lie cheat and steal and come out looking and smelling like a rose?

Enough of the email witch-hunt. It's a waste of time and no one cares except folks who think they are gonna use it to keep her out of the White House.

Find something else because this ain't it.

Seriously? You have no problem with someone conducting government duties destroying records?

It makes the concept of governmental accountability a complete joke.

The subpoena went out earlier this month, the emails were erased last October.

She supplied some 30,000 emails that a third party deemed to be government related. The investigators still have those records. She then wiped her server of all emails that were 60 days old or older.

    Who was the "third party"?

On what basis were they qualified to decide what was and was not government material?

By the way, the original request for the emails was Oct 28, 2014.

On what date were the emails wiped?

Hillary's stafd was the 3rd party. She won't even let the FBI have the server.

When the records are private business, I don't have a problem with it at all. It's her private email that she wiped clean. She gave the government emails that were requested.

Her accountability is fine. The GOP is just fishing and hoping to find something.

If you want government transparency, get the members of Congress to release their emails.

See how many of them wipe some stuff clean.

Everyone knows that the Clintons are liars and cheats. Hill was such a lousy Sec. of State that she could hardly turn those idiotic emails of hers over to the people because they would have laughed her back to Arkansas.

    Or worse.

I suspect that they would show that the Clinton foundation accepted money from foreign governments that are hostile to the US while she was Secretary of State.

That anyone would accept her attorney as an objective third party deciding what is government and what is personal email is beyond ridiculous.

No, it's not her private email that she wiped clean, it's her private server - there is a difference.

The whole point is that neither you nor anyone else knows if what was withheld is private or not. We just have to take her word for it. I have a hard time with that - being that she is who she is.

And the "aw shucks and land a-goshin', I just didn't know it would be that big of a deal" gives me a migraine.

And the "golly gee, she said turned everything over so I guess she did - yuk yuk yuk" makes me want to throw up.

Her accountability isn't just fine. And the truth is - we will never know what she deleted.

You're mincing words. The only way to "wipe your email" is to wipe the server on which it sits.

Like I said, a witch-hunt. She's once again shown that she's more adept at the game than the GOP. She didn't break any laws by wiping the server of her private email. And as no one knows if she wiped anything else, no one can say that she's withheld anything.

The GOP just wanted to look through that private email to see if they could snag her with something else.

So I say again, this is Hillary. They should have checked her email while she was in office.

Then sit back and let your head hurt and throw up a few times. It won't change anything. There's nothing there now so the GOP is just gonna have to try and derail her some other kind of way.

Her accountability is just fine for everyone except the witch-hunt folks who are trying to negatively paint her so that they can win an election.

The only way the GOP is winning the White House is if they catch her in bed with a dead little boy or a dead little girl.

The GOP is summarily too mean and self-serving for the majority of Americans to support its candidates. Just the way it is.

So yall are just gonna have to whine about email-gate.
