Trick or Treat for Abortions

Nickelodeon and Proctor and Gamble are pushing for our children to collect funds for Unicef, claiming they'll be HELPING other children! Instead, our children would be helping fund the murder of the unborn.

FROM AN EMAIL I REC'D TONIGHT:

Help your kids get ready for the big night out — and learn more about UNICEF — with our trick-or-treat game, "Be a Hero for UNICEF."

The Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF tradition began 55 years ago, and has since helped raise more than $127 million for children worldwide.

P&G is a proud sponsor of UNICEF, the world's leading children's organization.

In 1997 the UN released a handbook for emergency workers in refugee situations that urges the use of abortion-causing "emergency contraception" and also the use of a portable device called the manual vacuum aspirator that can be used for performing abortions in refugee tents.

**** Thanks for the informative post Diane! [IMG] However, let us not go overboard quoting from various sources in length. Let us provide the bottom line approach here, shall we? Your kind cooperation is greatly appreciated. In Christ, Barnabas (your friendly BB Administrator) [IMG] *****

UNICEF won't get a nickel from me, nor will United Way. Thanks Diane for the heads up.

And here I thought this was about the Belgium TV ad using the Smurf's village as ground zero.

Hill? Do you still trick or treat?

And by the way emerald, Thank you for reminding me to reorder tracts. It's been one of those things I remember when out in the world but not sitting here.

Here is a link to an executive summary of the document produced by International Organization Research Group, an arm of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM).

UNICEF : Women or Children First? (pdf)

    Some of their allegations include:
    1) UNICEF appears to be supporting abortion in some of its documentation.

    2) UNICEF is partnered in an HIV prevention program run by the Population Council, patent holders of RU-486.

    3) UNICEF financially supports a South African Youth HIV prevention group called loveLife which C-FAM believes actively promotes abortion. I visited their website and checked out the Youth FAQ which addressed a question about babies and they preach abstience.

    4) UNICEF supports contraception. Coming from C-FAM, this is equivalent to abortion.

    5) UNICEF is becoming radically feminist. Their evidence comes from citing the number of times the word "girls" is mentioned on the UNICEF website compared to the number of times the word "boys" is mentioned. Their second evidence of radical feminization is the lack of programs to address the needs of fathers, something UNICEF has never had.

I was able to find a page of loveLife that talks about abortion.

Here is the 2005 UNICEF Emergency Field Handbook

The pdf is pretty large (4Mb) and has 424 pages. I was unable to find any instances of the words contraception or aspirator. There was one mention of the word abortion in reference to unsafe abortions being a preventable cause of maternal death.

The procedures for Emergency Obstetrics Care is found in pages 146 to 148. I read no implied references to abortion. The aspirator may or may not be included in one of the midwifery or obstetrics kits available for ordering.

Isn't putting poison into kid's trick or treats illegal?

Well Johnv and MP, what in the world is wrong with chick tracts? Is there something offensive to Baptists in them? I see very simple effective life saving messages in them. Please enlighten me.

Sorry Barnabas, on another board, the question came up that I should 'prove' my facts with more links and my thought was to do that before the problem arose here. I should have known I'd do SOMETHING wrong.

Thanks to all who added some of the missing links!

Jack Chick is a liar and a qualifies as a false messenger. If these were OT times, we'd have to stone him. I would no more give out Chick tracts than I would Benny Hinn tracts. Why in the world anyone gives Chick the time of day is beyond me. Are we so incapable of finding reputable persons?

And as a parent, if my kid ever came home from trick-or-treating with Chick tracts, I'd remove them and toss them in teh garbage where they belong.

I've read them for years and basically they give the simple gospel. Thanks for the kind treatment. I will continue unless I'm shown something solid rather than angry accusations, with accusatory overtones.

If Benny Hinn had tracts that basically they give the simple gospel, would you use them? I would not. Likewise will I not use Chick tracts.

Here is the website where people can order Chick tracts for Halloween.

    http://www.chick.com/default.asp

My favorite one for years has been:

    "This Was Your Life"

In fact, just got inspired to order a bunch of those in Spanish to leave at different laundromats. Glad this subject came up. Thanks.
