Poor Carpor having a tough night back to no substance

Not delusinal at all ,I think people who like Sarah on this board want to innoculate her now rather than later so she will have a clear run in 2012 just my humble view. Again the topic is only pertinent from that premise, it is still secondary to what is transpiring now and that is John McCain and is his campaign imploding? and our conservative ready to dump him and say "Who really wants this Presidency now?" and why not look to 2012 with Sarah, I think that is in the back of their minds as with Sarahs.

carpro , one thing I notice you like your little quips, but they seem to come when things are not going your way, sorry for your frustration. Perhaps your man McCain can pull it out in the last debate, but I am hoping Obama pulls out of that one and just concetrates on the ground game, taking 3 days vacation to get the vote out for that.

If this position is filled by the pleasure of the governor, then the governor can fire people for eating at McDonald's or wearing brown shoes. It doesn't matter. It can be questioned whether it is good judgment, but that is for the voters, not the legislature.

So on this, you are simply incorrect, unless this is not a position filled by the pleasure of the governor (which you may be, I don't know).

I assume you have evidence that this was her motivation.

She appointed him. He served at her pleasure. She could fire him for any reason or no reason. These are undeniable facts.

Almost completely overlooked in this politically motivated witch hunt is the fact that she had plenty of reason to fire him, aside from any possible personal issues.

She showed great restraint in not firing him much sooner.

The question isn't whether she had the right to fire him, it's whether she did so out of the state's interest or for her own private benefit. If the later, it's a terrible misuse of authority and demonstrates grave deficiencies in both her judgment and character.

Have the allegations that the trooper tazered a 10 year old (no matter who's he was), and drank on duty in his car been shown to be false ?

Sounds like guilt by association works. It does against Obama.

They are in the same family...

If he works at the pleasure of the governor, it doesn't matter. I am not sure why that is confusing.

Not at all. If a new governor comes and wants to hire his own people, he has every right to do that. And then if he later wants to change them, he has every right to do that. To fire someone is not necessarily a misuse of authority (since she had the authority) nor a grave deficiency. That charge can only come from a lack of serious thought about the issues.

It matters whether or not the Governor is exercising her authority in the public interest or to settle a family grudge. I'm not sure why that is confusing.

Again, it is NOT a question of whether the governor has the "right". It's a question of abuse of power. Of course firing someone is not necessarily a misuse of authority. No one has said that. The circumstances in this particular case, however, lead one to believe that Palin may have had a significant conflict of interest in the matter.

The failure to see this can only come from a lack of serious thought about the issues.

It doesn't matter if the person works at the pleasure of the governor. It may be politically wrong, but she has the right to hire or fire for whatever reason she wants to. If Alaska (or anyone else) wants it to be different, then you have to change the process. You are very confused because of your political bias it appears.

If she has the right, then there is no question of abuse of power. She doesn't even need a reason to fire him.

This is clearly nonsense. We have demonstrated that your position is not clearly thinking about the issue. Under the circumstances, she can legally hire or fire whoever she wants for whatever reason she wants. Think for a change. Don't continue down this road. It is killing America and killing decent conversation.

I understand your logic Pastor but if what you say was fact there would be no investigation. There is an investigation so there must be an aspect you are missing.

Of course, because we know that there are never investigations that are politically motivated.

The reality is that people are stupid and power hungry, and they will start an investigation at the drop of a hat.

Perhaps there is more, but if there is, why isn't anyone saying it? With a national campaign involved, no one that I know of is giving any actual evidence of wrongdoing. If this is so important and so real, why isn't the national press picking it up? That seems to me as evidence that there isn't much here. I don't know, and quite frankly, I don't care.

You have simply got to be kidding. :BangHead:

It's far more likely that you are the one that is missing some "aspect", namely politics.

Remember, this was going on months before Palin made the ticket.

They are saying it by continuing the investigation and by the court ruling to honor the subpoena's. You are right about it being very hush, hush which is interesting. I know why the investigating side aren't saying much since the investigation is in process but why isn't Palin camp leaking facts? As for the media, there is not much to report since facts are hard to find but the decision should be soon at which time we'll see what the story really is.

That's pretty wishful thinking. Perhaps the Palin camp isn't "leaking facts" because there are no facts to leak. And the investigators aren't saying anything because there is nothing to say. The longer they can keep up the charade of subpoenas and investigation without actually having to investigate anything, the longer they can pretend to attack Palin without actually having evidence.

To put it plainly, I find your scenario here almost beyond ludicrous.
