Trump Has Spent 25 Percent of Days at Trump Golf Clubs

Donald Trump’s arrival at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, Saturday morning marked 150 days of his 582 days in office that he’s spent at a golf club bearing his own name. That is a quarter of his time in office.

The visit also marked his 193rd day at a Trump property. Or a third of his time in office.

This never really bothered me. What did bother me was people here on BB that complained about all the time Obama spent golfing and when it was pointed out that Trump spends probably twice as much time golfing as Obama did, it's just brushed off. I felt it was somewhat hypocritical.

For the record, I didn't care if Obama went golfing, so I don't care if Trump goes golfing either.

What is kind of amazing is that with all this golfing, Trump is getting so much done.

Obam spent a lot of times away, and his wife did some big time shopping, at least trump puts expenses on his own acct, not ours!

Yep, and if Trump got into a golfing match with Obama my money would be on Trump, same as any other comparison.

Since his inauguration, Trump visited his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida (pictured here) seven times, spending all or part of 25 days there, according to CBS News White House reporter Mark Knoller, who keeps meticulous vacation statistics on the presidents he’s covered. His tallies include weekend days that presidents are away from Washington.
Before departing for his latest trip, Trump had already spent 14 days at the New Jersey resort, and two days at the presidential Camp David retreat in rural Maryland, Knoller said.
By Knoller’s reckoning, Trump vacationed far more than Obama did at this point in his presidency, although he was gone less than Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush.
When Obama had been in office the same amount of time as Trump, he'd spent four days in his Chicago hometown and 17 days at Camp David in eight separate visits, according to Knoller.

So the count at this point in their presidency:
    Trump - 41
    Obama - 21
Trump has spent almost double the time away than Obama.

The real slackers were GHW Bush and GW Bush
George W. Bush took 1,020 vacation days while in office
George H. W. Bush took 543 vacation days during his term (4 years)

Ronald Reagan took 335 vacation days during his White House years
Bill Clinton took 345 vacation days in eight years

Barack Obama took 328 vacation days in eight years

The President who took the fewest vacation days:
Jimmy Carter took 79 vacation days (4 Years)

I think that Trump is used to better living quarters than the White House affords so he goes to his own property whenever possible. Does he go to Camp David? I know when Mitch Daniels was governor of Indiana, he had a much nicer and more secure house in Carmel than the rundown governors mansion provided by the State of Indiana in Indianapolis but state law said he had to stay in the governors mansion.

Just like Limbaugh always says, he operates with half his brain tied behind his back, just to make it fair. As for time away? Trump isn’t even taking a salary, & like Bush is under constant attack by the media. They need to keep their mental well being in the job of running the country. I’m glad Trump is getting his family out of Dodge whenever he can. Guaranteed he is still working. He’s a type A multitasker. Carter didn’t have a life, & no one wanted to hang with him, so he got up early at the White House, went to his office, & went back to sleep. This was told by his staff. Judging by his results as a leader, we wished he had a life that didn’t include killing the country. I’ve never had to get up early, to wait in gas station lines since Jimmah. This post calling people slackers for the time spent in the White House prison, is a complete folly. Congrats to the author for wasting a portion of our day.

President Harding actually did say that the White House is a prison.

Trump can run but he can't hide. And Jimmy Carter is a far better human being than the mobster. He loves his wife and has done his best to help others both in-office and out. Trump only does things for himself. He doesn't need a salary because he's fraudulently making a lot of money as president.

Oh come on folks, what president didn't celebrate the presidency in the manner of their choice!?

In the words of one of our Yiddish musical philosophers:

    "...it's TRADITION!"

Carter hates Israel. His library stays afloat with money from rich Arabs.

Although I wouldn't vote for him unless he quit the DNC he would be among their best. He did get us out of the red for at least one year.

Yes, primarily by the efforts & energies of his predecessor RR, he did do well economically. Big part of that is keeping out of wars. Will Donnie boy do that? I don't think so....I see his master plan is typical German behavior Prior to the peace longevity of the Hun.
