    What your'e asking is for proof of a negative. Like being asked to "disprove" KJVOism. KJVOism fails because it lacks scriptural support.

    Conspiracy theorists claim the Pearl Harbor attack was known about in advance, but knowlege deliberately withheld for the purpose of permitting Japan to attack, thus giving us an excuse to enter WW2. Their claim, like KJVOism claims, fail because they lack historical support. The only "evidence" is the result of picking and choosing point of the past and lifting them from their context.

    If a person points to this contrived evidence, they are, at best, spreading rumor and gossip. If that person is aware of how the contrived "evidence" is gleaned, then that person is, at worst, guilty of false witness.

    It's been my personal observation that many of the folks who buy this "conspiracy theory" nonsense also tend to believe that David Barton, Kent Hovind, and/or Kevin Trudeau are honest guys.

    I think that it is an overstatemnt to say that FDR had a facade of isolationism. As a child of wealth, married to his wealthy very distant relative, he had spent a lot of time in Europe. He was very much an internationalist.

    The Republican Party also moved to internationalism in the election of 1940 under the guidance of the very popular Hoosier Wendel Wilkie, candidate for President, as you know.

    However, I have to agree with you that the American government saw themselves standing alone against the nazis and the Japanese in a no-win situation wherein the Axis would have controlled all of Europe, much of Asia, including Russia and China, and all of Africa. North America and South America and Australia would have had a very difficult time winning such a war.

    I don't know about skirting laws to sell to Britian. As time went by, the laws were changed.

    Personally, I don't think that FDR was so depraved that he allowed us to be attacked. I don't think that he was the greatest military mind of the war. Nor was he the greatest political mind of the war as he let the communists have most of Eastern Europe. This led to their dropping the iron curtain and the cold war. Churchill warned about Stalin but FDR ignored the warnings.

    The American military was blessed with many great commanders, but it was GI Joe who won the war, as President Dwight David Eisenhower said from the Oval Office in the 1950s. I like Ike!

    In a republic, it is the people who wage war. I am waging a total war against Islamofascism. I reject both cut and run and tax and spend. There are enough good Democrats that we will not cut and run and we will not tax and spend if the GOP refuses to tax and spend. President George Walker Bush will stand and fight for this greatest nation on God's green earth and the American people will join him so that the Islamofascists who go around cutting off people's heads for Allah and putting the video of it on tv will be defeated and killed. Maybe we can even free the Islamic peoples from the curse of Islam and Satanism.

    The source: thetruthseeker.co.uk has
    the reliability of Pravda, the Moscow
    Daily. Recall 'truth' in English is similiar
    to 'pravda' in Russian.

    In 20/20 perfect hindsight, i makes sense to
    feed your battleship line to the Japaneese to
    get support for the war in Europe. The
    aircraft carriers were the best fighting
    ships of WW2. But nobody knew that except
    a few pioneer aviators in Dec 1941.

    1) The onus is on you to prove your point first has even the slightest inkling of credibility. But you are clearly so prejudiced on the subject that I doubt you will admit that. I'm not sure that there is an anti-U.S. conspiracy theory that you won't buy
    into. :rolleyes:

    2) Why only conservative sources? Conservatives don't have a monopoly on the truth or on honesty. Neither do liberals.

    No, what I'm asking for is an honest debate instead of whisking on here making allegations and baiting with rabbit chases about KJVO and straw men arguments like bringing up David Barton.

    A good sound debate that makes some kind of logical sense without insinuations about the integrity and truthfulness of some members of this board, (which skirt the line about posting rules on personal attacks)- a sound debate similar to what Brother Ed has posted, for instance. Obviously, you know little about the subject matter.

    LE, you act like these looney arguments are brand new. They are not. They have been around since the attack on Pearl Harbor happened. One would think that since they haven't been proven in 64 years that the logical thing to do would be to regard them as not being credible. Which is what I have done. I urge you to do the same and save your own credibility as a poster on this board.

    That's exactly what the conspiracy theorists do: They make their claims, and then accuse those who disagree with them of not wanting to know the truth, not being true Americans, being liberals, and the list goes on.

    I welcome an HONEST debate, LE, and as much as you and I can disagree (and sometimes agree, though as of late whenever I post something in agreement with you, you ignore my post), you must in the very least acknowlege that I can and do respect and look forward to honest, civil, and healthy debates and discussions.

    Conspiracy theories are cool. They make good books, movies, even documentaries- but they make lowsy threads.

    The truth about FDR is that he was a skirt chaser all of his life and died with his secretary in Warm Springs, Georgia, and was not with his wife and the mother of his children.

    The truth about FDR is that he thought that he could make a deal with Stalin and his foolishness led to the iron curtain being dropped on Eastern Europe and not being lifted until President Reagan's term in office.

    The truth about FDR is that he was pompous and sometimes dishonest and unfair. The truth about FDR is that he liked to smear people.

    The truth about FDR is that he kept a hollow army in the 1930s amd that he had very little military knowledge or ability.

    As Ike said when he was President, the true hero of World War II was the American G.I.!

    Blood bought our freedom; someone had to pay.

    You've to one extend or another described just about every person who ever occupied the oval office.

    That is such a silly, false statement. Conservatives are no more reliable when it comes to the truth than are liberals. The following passage of Scripture gives no exemption for conservatives:

    Romans 3:10-18 (ESV)
    as it is written:

    "None is righteous, no, not one;
    [11] no one understands;
    no one seeks for God.
    [12] All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
    no one does good,
    not even one."
    [13] "Their throat is an open grave;
    they use their tongues to deceive."
    "The venom of asps is under their lips."
    [14] "Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness."
    [15] "Their feet are swift to shed blood;
    [16] in their paths are ruin and misery,
    [17] and the way of peace they have not known."
    [18] "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

    As an "amateur" WW2 history buff---more of a "hobby-ist"----here's one that my buddy, Eddy Edwards has "pegged" right!!

    The battles of Coral Sea and Midway--were navel battles---where navy ships (both friendly & enemy)made no visable contact with each other---the battles were won by the Flattop aircraft---thus--reliquenshing the days of Battleship/Dreadnoughts a "thing of the past"----obsolete while still crusing around looking for battles they barely made contact with---the battleship missions were religated to shelling the islands and in a sort of "fire support" providing such support as the US Marines "hop-scotched" their way from south to north in the South Pacific!!

    Ken, you forgot to post Romans 1. A lot of liberal "values" are mentioned in that particular chapter.
