    Anyone catch the TV program last night where the difference between Calvinism and Neo-Calvinism was highlighted?

    No one saw it? It was a national broadcast.

    Any guesses which channel/news program it was on?

    I am interested in a difinition too because there could be different meanings to the term. I will outline the two different groups I see has being called "Neo Calvinists".

    The first group has their roots in Abraham Kuyper's followers. Banner of Truth has an article on this type of neo-calvinism here.

    The other group of neo-calvinists is a more recent group. I have not read an article by a scholar on the issue but did read a pre-published work by a respected Pastor recently (there could be a scholarly critique, but I have not read one). They embrace Calvinistic Soteriology but reject many of the outworkings or Calvinism in other areas. I believe the vast majority of those who are involved in defending Calvinism on the Internet could be considered Neo-Calvinists (at least this is my experience).

    I don't own a television so I could not watch it. Yet, it sounds interesting.

    Neo-Calvinism isnt a new term for hyper-Calvinism.

    Rather it refers to the modern recapitulation of Reformed thougbt that blends some contemporary theological trends (pretribulational eschatogy, diapensational thought, etc) with traditional Calvinism. There is also an aspect of integrating more progressive ecclesiological concepts.

    Above transcript link is no longer available:(

    It was on a news show called "TMZ".

    It's possible the segment may be rebroadcast on the TMZ weekend recap show—check your local listings.

    The segment highlighting the difference between Calvinism and Neo-Calvinism is an interview of contestants on the reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race".

    :laugh::laugh: TMZ isn't a "news show" its a celebrity gossip rag :laugh::laugh:

    Sorry I just found it absolutely hilarious (for some reason) that you referred to TMZ as news. That's pretty funny...

    Sorry it took so long to reply...I was cleaning coffee off my screen that spurted out when I read this the first time...:type:

    Oh how I love the BB...:D (I say that in love because I really do)

    RuPaul is a drag queen who (I guess) has a show for upcoming drag queens trying to make it big. (I honestly haven't watched it or even knew about it until now) The title is a bit of a double entendre...get it drag queen...competitive show...drag show...;)

    Anyhoo interesting that this came up on there. :)
