Hi everybody... I'm new here, so nobody'll recognize me probably. First things first, I'm Megan... 17 years old... Missionary Baptist... from Kentucky. I was saved on July 14, 1999.

    Now, onto my questions.

Question #1: How many of ya'll have heard of Missionary Baptists, know anything about us, or belong to one of our churches?

Question #2: What are your respective beliefs on salvation?

I'm really interested in hearing others' beliefs... especially kids. And of course, I'll be willing to share mine if you'd like.

Look forward to discussing with ya'll!! [IMG]

I've heard of missionarary baptist, I do not belong to one. I am a Independent Fundamental Baptist. I like to stay away from conventions, and clicks, and groups and stuff. Independent.

Hello, and welcome to the BaptistBoard! Megan you got saved two days before I did! That was just something that stuck out to me about your post!

First of all, yes, I've heard of Missionary Bpatist's although I'm not sure what they beleive. I'm Independant Fundamental Baptist.

And about salvation, I belvive that once a person is saved they can never lose it. If I lost my salvation everytime I sinned and failed...well I'd have to get saved five or six times a day!
I beleive it is by grace through faith, not of works at all. Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9 are some common verses I've given people when it comes to salvation. And thank the Lord, He does still save!

    1. Never heard of 'em, sorry. I'm a Southern Baptist.

    2. Romans 10:9-10 pretty much spells it out.

I've heard of Missionary Baptist although I don't have the first clue what they believe. Perhaps, Meghan, you could explain to us what makes you a missionary Baptist;I'm sure we would all enjoy learning a little about your denomination.

I personally consider myself Reformed Baptist(Calvinistic). My family is all Independant Fundamental but I believe the Reformed position is more Biblical. Sorry if you don't like the "Protestant" word Reformed but we all need to be constantly re-forming our beliefs or rather con-forming them to Scripture. I believe that salvation is a work of God from beginning to end that entails regeneration, conviction of sin, as well as faith and repentance(all gifts of God).

Also, in case you're wondering, I'm 18 years old.

I love this site-I hope I'll be able to do a lot of Bible discussion/debating.

I have heard of BMA churches only recently.

As far as salvation goes, Christ changed my heart, and that made my actions change.

I've heard of Missionary Baptists, but I don't know anything about them.(I'm a General Baptist.)

Salvation cannot be earned. No good work or kind deed can ever save you from Hell. It is a gift given from God when you accept Jesus Christ.

I haven't heard much about Missionary Baptists. Could you tell us about them some? Also, I believe in once saved, always saved and salvation through faith alone.

    hi,
yes i know about missionary baptists, but thats only because i are one.

we beleive that salvation is through grace, or if you like acrostics God's Rriches At Christ's Expense. jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of all those that will beleive. also he had the names of those future beleivers on his mind when he came to this world (the elect) and all who beleive on him and repeant of their sins and recognizing that you are a sinner, will be saved. no magic prayer or set things to do. isn't salvation great! preecherboymatt: Sounds good so far-I always love discovering new Baptist denominations that hold to literal Biblical teachings on Grace. Salvation is the Lord's, it's not even ours once we have it:

Luk 2:28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation....

He gives it to whoever He chooses:

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am an Independant Fundamental Baptist. Yes, I have heard of Missionary Baptist. The person I talked to didn't believe that the KJV the version translated straight out of the originalwas the only version And that any other version was just fine.
