I can understand why, and agree.

Mr. Priest has nary a clue."A potentially dangerous precedent in biblical interpretation"? Hardly. That is,unless, one thinks that a faithful Bible translation is dangerous.

It's so absurd. The HCSB and the 2011 NIV are more alike than dissimilar.

These kind of pronouncements are so goofy.

Have you ever seen anyone actually use the HCSB? I don't think I have.

I use it when I teach and preach. Of course, we've probably never met. ;)

It's the version our pastor preaches from.

I use it frequently; until recently it was what I carried to church.

To clarify, that's the breakaway Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, not the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

There are many Southern Baptist churches in Texas not affiliated with the Southern Baptists of Texas convention.

Not trying to hijack anything. The title of the thread claims "[Texas] Southern Baptists..." are doing this, but that's not accurate. It is merely one of the two state conventions that Southern Baptist churches has associated with.

I have no intention of pushing this thread off topic. I just want those who are not familiar with Texas to know that not all SBC churches in Texas are associated with this group.
