    VANCOUVER -- A federal court judge has ordered the removal of a U.S. Army deserter from Canada, a decision that signals this country is no longer a safe haven for American soldiers who decide to evade military service at home and abroad.

    Along this line of thought, I wonder why all the libs (Hollywierd types mostly) that vowed to leave this country if Bush were elected -- are still here?

    I would rather the kids and grandkids go to Canada than get themselves killed for the Bush family oil empire.

    No one is forcing any of these kids or grandkids to go and "get themselves killed." It's called a volunteer military. If you don't want to go, then don't join the military.

    Your real problem is that you really believe freedom is free and is not worth fighting for.

    I have no authority to take anyone to Canada.

    Yes, for now, we have a voluntary army.

    Herman Dooeyweerd quotes Rousseau as writing, "The English people think they are free. But they are mistaken. They are free only while choosing members of Parliament."

    Is this not a fair and reasonable description of the US? We will be free for one day in November.

    Yes. we can't wait for the Obamamessiah to save us from the evil Bush empire. Actually, it will be more of the same just under a different name with increased gay rights, hate crime laws, lesser states rights, and higher taxes too boot.

    Why ? I paid 42% of my money last year. That's what our accountant reported to us. You really want more ? Why shouldn't we just fire everybody, and rest on our laurels ? After all, if your going to raise taxes, it'll be less money to hire people who really need it.

    DF, I like you enough, but that is an immature, uninformed statement. I don't think I need to pay anymore taxes.

    I never said you should pay more taxes. I don't want to pay more either. I think Obama said he would raise taxes on the wealthy.

    BTW, I am glad this military deserter has lost his bid to stay in Canada. He should face court-martial.
