First it was Obama denounces Wight.

Then his old flock was shame to wear that label.

Now the eitire denomination want's to denouce him.

Why blame Obama for doing what thousands do likewise (flip flop)?

At best Obama went to church their and ignored Wright's statments for political expediency.

Wright is a racist, and he also has a certain 'brillance' and arrogance, it appears: Hard not to ruffle feathers with those combinations. Think this will help Obama?

How ironic NOW the church does something. I'm sure his preaching hate was nothing he just started doing recently. I'm sure everyone who attended his church and denomination knew exactly what he was all about the many years of his 'pastoring'. His church and denomination are hypoctites. They remind me of bugs scattering when a rock is lifted...

Some did leave - including our beloved Oprah Winfrey left that church over that exact issue.

Keep in mind, the UCC is congregational - local church autonomy

I can't believe Oprah ever attended a church...it seems to me she believes she is a deity in herself...

Could be they were willing to overlook his extremism because his "numbers" were good...

    until his views became public.
