I tend to agree with this stance also.

There is nothing wrong with keeping some things between you and God, and asking others to pray for the unspoken need.

Are you saying that God can't answer private prayers, or won't?
So the prayer is only 'good' if everyone in the congregation knows
    exactly what the request is?

Sounds like a need for gossip, you ask me.
Would you be alright with me stating that my DH and I are having
'intimacy' problems, or infertility problems or money problems, or
    drug problems or.....

Some things don't need to be aired in public, and God knows just
what it is that you need or are asking for.

Saying he won't or can't seems to be putting limits on Him, and I
    don't do that.

You haven't given scripture against it, yet.

    Unspoken prayer requests are sin.

No one said anything about going poublic. However the people you ask to pray need to understand what they are asking God for. Other wise they are in sin.

    How's this then,

"My husband I are having medical issues/personal issues, please pray for us" ?

I still don't see what's wrong with the congregation praying,

"Lord, you know what's troubling FreeatLast. We ask You in
Your lovingkindness and mercy to ease his/her mind, and be
with him/her at this time. We pray that FreeatLast will feel
Your presence, and be comforted. Use us Lord, to accomplish
    Your will. Amen."

I think God can figure out what's being asked, and can handle '
it w/o it being a public matter.

If you prefer to state your needs in more detail, that's fine,
but calling others sinful for not doing so has no basis, IMO.
    Where's the verse(s)?

Given freeatlast's belief in not praying for unspoken needs being in God's will, and wanting to kill homosexuals, I would say he subscribes to an extreme type of Christianity.

I am not sure why we have to know everything to pray for someone.

That is fine. I will pray for you on the medical issues. However The personal issues is too broad and I would not know where to start. Seek someone you can trust with at least somewhat of a more narrow explaination. Exact detail are not needed. You could ask for prayer about your marriage and that would be enough or finances ect.

I assume that you have not been reading thhe posts. The reason is that a person cannot pray in faith unless they understand what they are asking.

That is not an unspoken prayer request. You asked for a specific need. You had to know there was a need for mental healing. An unspoken prayer is simply that. There is absolutely no understanding of the need and to seek God for another like that is sin. You are tempting God to answer something no matter what it is. You would be asking amiss.

    It is very unfortunate hat there are people like yourself. You do like the religious leaders during the time of Jesus. I never said I wanted to kill homosexuals. That makes you a liar and you know what scripture says about all liars;
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

My faith tells me that God has all knowledge and all power that I don't have to know anything (and usually don't) to trust that he will do as he says and act upon his promises, whether or not I can call out specifics.

Oh, what do you want? To kill me too?

That's not what you said in the other thread. Let's refresh your memory. Go to posts # 5 and #9 in this thread http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=46712

Your ridiculous self-righteousness really stink up the place. Now I'm gonna have to go get some air freshener!

Repeating yourself doesn't add veracity to your statements...and they are there for all to see. I would also imagine God doesn't like self righteous twisters of his word who would condemn one of his to hell. You are a real piece of work.
