Due to the visibilty of member profiles in the "directory", I'd like to ask all members to take a few seconds and update their profiles to maximize the benefit of this new feature.

    Thank you.

I updated mine. However, when I provided the link for my picture off of Msn, when I checked it, I had this littleround body thingie with no face. THAT ISN'T ME! But then again, Abby's computer knowledge fits on a microscopic pin! Does anyone know how to at least make my picture veiwable in my profile?

At a minimum, members should provide their country and state. [IMG]

As a rule, I only put on as little information on profiles as possible. I haven't listed my home church, for example. I also don't publicly answer questions of an ID nature (like, where do you work, what streets do you live near, etc).

There's simply too much potential for abuse of the info.

I was going to update my profile and include a picture of myself, but some very expensive cameras were broken. Sorry you will just have to guess.

Did that and became an Anglican. No more posts in baptist only sections.

    Cheers,

    You're right.

A long time ago, I mentioned the name of my church on crosswalk.com.

I just assumed that, since it was a "Christian" board, it was safe.

Because my screen name is essentially my real name and because I had mentioned my city here and there, somebody was able to put the clues together and I was stalked.

I try to be as vague as I can without being evasive now.

    Hello Webmaster,

I have a few suggestions that I would like to see on the baptist board that you and the users might find useful.

    1. To have a an area strictly for suggestions for people to put that they would like to see on the Baptist Board.

    2. I would also like to see a feature which I have used on other forums where you can still edit your topic or post even after it has been posted. I try and review my stuff but sometimes you can catch something later on that you wish you could change. The other forum posted the # of changes made so other viewers made it possible to see that it was changed.

    Thanks

This thread has gotten OFF TOPIC. It is a thread about updating your profile.

It is not a suggestion thread.

This board is privately owned by webmaster and he is doing an excellent job.

I think it's already the best board around and I don't think he needs to make any changes since he is paying for it himself. [IMG]

I believe we have 5 to 15 minutes to edit our posts. We used to be able to edit them for a longer period, but ran into problems with certain posters posting something and then deleting it after several other posters had replied. The confusion this caused got out of hand... :(

On the suggestions - the best method would be to PM the webmaster and give him your ideas. ;)

    Blessings,
    ┬žue

I agree completely with Sue. The Webmaster, and the Administrators, and the Moderators have worked hard to make, and keep, BB the best Board on the Internet. We all owe them a big THANK YOU for all they do. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Just to keep this on topic: I did update my profile, and plan to do it again at regular intervals. Thanks for reminding me.
