Just heard about the flight from Heathrow on its way to DC, I think, being diverted to Boston.

Apparently some woman had a tub of vaseline, a screw driver and a note referencing al-Queda.

WHo would have thought, two weeks ago, that a tub of vaseline could bring down a place and become world news?

Sounds like it was just a political statement... and it has worked.

Seems to me the terrorists are winning...we are scared to death over vaseline, and screwdrivers?

The list I saw had matches on it also.
That makes it sound more menacing.

There was some mention of the lady just getting claustrophobic and snapping... but that does not explain the other items. :)

I guess I won't be taking my knitting on board when we fly to the US in two weeks...

I don't know about you, but I'm rather sick of these Muslims holding the world as hostage. When you think about it, it's ridiculous and absurd that we would let them get by with it. Sounds to me that the world in general is going to be held hostage until we get off our politically correct kick and start telling the truth, islam is not a peaceful religion and muslims want all of the non-muslims to be either their slaves or dead. Since the world is so afraid of islam and those who follow the cult of death and destruction, muslims have already won their battle for the third caliphate.

High treason on an airplane during war time - sounds like a firing squad is in order.

    Vasaline is treason?

A few years back, my wife and I traveled to Kazakhstan for seven weeks to adopt our son. I managed to get searched at every security check point. One observation: They aren't nearly as concerned in Amsterdam about invading your personal space as they are here. Here, I set off the metal detector (shoes, I think) and got the want waved around my outstretched arms while the guy apologized. In amsterdam, I set it off (jacket zipper) and got a full pat-down. What did they find. A teething bear...which was hard to explain since my wife and son had been moved to another line.

Of course now, having spent seven weeks in a country that ends with "stan," I just get ready for the search everytime I fly.

There are some Moslems like that - more than before we invaded Iraq - but not most. Most are just people who want to live normal lives.

I suppose if the passenger in question was McGuyver then there would be something to worry about.

If it were the A-team, we'd have much less to be concerened about because the plans for the screwdriver, vasaline, and matches would be clear: they are building a tank.

I couldn't figure what the vaseline would be used for by the A-Team, but now I've got it - its a stealth tank! It'll slip by the radar!
