Could you imagine being a patient at this home and having the cat curl up next to you?

Or if you work there and it curls up next to you, even better!

Its official, cats are the messengers of death. I never did like them!

I also just read this article on Fox News and I am not sure if I think it is sweet or creepy.

FWIW, cats and other animals do have the ability to sense when a person is about to "go".

There's this dog raised from puppyhood by a firefighter somewhere in Colorado, or parts thereof.

As a puppy the dog grew up sleeping on this guy's chest, and so did a second dog whom he also adopted as a puppy.

Years later he retired, the dogs were grown, and as was his habit, he got ready for his early morning walk through the woods with his dogs.

Both dogs didn't want to go at first, and no matter how he coaxed them, they just weren't their usual boisterous, bouncy selves, even when he finally did get them outdoors. They kept stopping and whimpering and turning their noses towards the direction of home.

Minutes into the walk he experienced severe chest pains, shortness of breath, and a heaviness in his arms, so he turned back with the dogs, and just as he got into the house he collapsed on the floor. He couldn't stand up, though he could still talk, barely, and he could move his arms but he knew, as a former firefighter, he was having a heart attack and a stroke.

One of the dogs went to the phone, bit it off the cradle (cordless), and took the phone to him, laid it by his side, while the other dog kept licking his face to keep him awake. He dialed 911, and got to the hospital in time.

In the hospital, the doctor told him, that had the dogs not been insistent on coming home, he would be dead. It seems the dogs were familiar with his heartbeat, having grown up hearing it, and knew something was very wrong with the beat.

Then there's the dog who smelled the cancer of the uterus that its owner didn't know she had, and the dog just kept pressing his nose on that part of the body and smelling, even in the presence of visitors.

I believe many animals are a blessing to us from the Creator.

    Addendum:

In a way, the doctors in that hospital can use this cat's "abilities" by subjecting the patient he curls up to to a very rigid physical, wot ?

    I think he's be-uuutiful!

Animals are able to sense stress or sadness in a person, just as they can sense your excitement or anger. They are not as "dumb" as some people think. I have both dogs and cats and they seem to sense when I need a hug. Believe it or not!

Like Cesar Millan, dog whisperer, says:

You want to project the right energy. Fear evokes agression. Confidence evokes submission.

If you hate cats, obviously you're going to think this story a little creepy. But I actually have a cat story similar to this little cutie-pie.

One of the cats we had back years ago when I lived at home with Mom and Dad was very much "in tune" to the health and well-being of both Mom and Dad. When Daddy was outside working, she would follow him everywhere. When she felt like he'd been out long enough, she'd meow at him til he took a break....since Dad had pretty serious health problems--including seizures if he became too fatigued--this was a very good thing.

Then, when my Mom was diagnosed with cancer, and came home from the hospital for the last five weeks of her life--bedridden--her ever-constant companion was that cat. Miss Millie stayed with my mom all through those final days/weeks, and it was all but impossible to do anything for Mom without having to deal with the cat, too. Until the day Mom slipped into her final coma and died. Miss Millie had been sleeping on the chair beside Mom's bed as usual, and Mom had been at least semi-conscious up til then. At the same instant we realized Mom had slipped fully into a coma, Millie jumped up on the bed and laid on Mom's chest. She would not budge. This went on for about 16 hours.

Then, five minutes before Mom passed away, Millie jumped straight up from the bed and literally ran from the room. And we could not DRAG her back in that room ever again. Strange, but true. But that cat was DEFINITELY a comfort to my Mom when she needed all the comfort she could get.

If affection from a cat is a sign that someone is going to die, then I've been dead for years.

My cat hates people, too, so if she gets overly friendly curling up next to me...I'll put her next to my wife :D

Oh, they'll let you live as long as you are still useful to them. But as soon as you get to old to turn the can opener...
