US: Saddam paid for (democratic) lawmakers' Iraq trip

    An indictment unsealed in Detroit accuses Muthanna Al-Hanooti, a member of a Michigan nonprofit group, of arranging for three members of Congress to travel to Iraq in October 2002 at the behest of Saddam's regime. Prosecutors say Iraqi intelligence officials paid for the trip through an intermediary.

    Interesting that this is coming to light now.
    This took place in October, 2002.

    Wonder if this is somehow a direct result of the changes made at the DofJ in the past year or so....

    According to Hannity & Colmes, the congressmen most likely had no idea that SH was the source of funds for the trip.
