I approve of this idea as talking with people and exchanging views is a healthy thing to do.

We had diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union and it was designed to impose Communism on the world. And talking with the Soviet Union was a whole lot better than destroying the world through a nuclear war.

 

With the Soviets you could use reason and logic. Not so now, with these people.

 

That may be true with some people such as Osama bin Laden but that is not true about most Muslims.

Ken, in a debate, when a person makes a statement as if it is a fact, it is up to the person making that statement to prove it or to state it is their opinion.

If you would like to clarify your statement as being your opinion, please either state that it is your opinion or produce facts to prove your assertion is true. The burden of proof is on you.

I agree with hillclimber that you can't sit down and reason with people whose core belief is that they will go to paradise if they murder people or commit suicide for their god. Polls show that large percentages of even so-called "moderate muslims" believe suicide bombing is okay in certain circumstances, like jihad. So when you make these blanket statements that "it is not true with most muslims" without any proof for your statements, you are showing you are either an islamic apologist, or you don't know much about the topic you are commenting on, or you just want to argue.

 

Get off my case, LE. I responded to Hillclimber1's post. So if my response to his post was off topic then so was his post.

As for proof, most Muslims are not murdering other people just as most Christians are not murdering other people just as most Jews are not murdering other people.

Also, in case you missed it in the article it stated that historically the Muslims that are members of OIC have a hard time getting along with each other.

Fine, defend the OIC. Who do you think will be the first to "give in" or make any concessions towards human rights or the so-called war on terrorism - the US or the islamic states?

You talk out of both sides of your mouth, Ken. On the one hand you go on and on about sticking to the Constitution, yet on the other hand, you endorse our government having a dialogue with terrorists and states who support terrorist ideology (a direct opposite to our Constitution) and tell us they can be reasoned with. :BangHead:

 

We should not dialogue with terrorists. Our military should wipe them out.
