Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

In defense of Van Impe (until I see the DVD and hear his explanation of the date in the title), I have gone back and read Matthew 24. Jesus said no man knows (present tense 1 Century AD) not will know (future tense). :laugh:

 

And let's hope that your candidate isn't appointing judges that are solidifying Roe v Wade beyond repeal. Else Jesus comes and finds more blood on our hands. :tear:

Good thread Martin. Jack Van Impe and Hal Lindsay are basically science fiction writers, along with the "Left Behind" series. These are the kinds of subjects that fascinate people who are not interested in why we are really here, to tell others about Jesus.

All my life there have been same old tired deadlines for Jesus to return. When He does not, we have a new and improved date. Yep 1948, thats it, Israel is a nation. No, no, its 1967, Jerusalem now belongs to Israel. No, its 1988, a 40 year generation in the Bible, and this generation shall not pass. No man, its the magic year of 2000. 6000 years on earth and we start the 1000 year reign. Now, we have 2012, brought to you by the extinct Mayian civilization. What a bunch of baloney.

It gets here when it gets here. Who cares? Maybe next Van Impe can bring us a video he filmed of the Creation.

 

Others have proclaimed to know the time and hour over the years. Some of them have watched that time come and pass.
