Who would use a version that uses the term "lion" to refer to BOTH the devil and Jesus?

    About the devil -
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

    About the Lord -
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

There are good lions, bad lions, Detroit lions, and dandy lions. Some lions even have a club.

Kinda like the morning star thing, eh?

Perhaps the one who wants to be "like the most high" is "AS a lion". but the true Lion is the Christ?

Strange that no KJVOist cares to comment on this "lion" problem...

Do you think we should toss the KJV in the trash because of this confusing "lion" issue found in the KJV?

Why is that a foolish question?

Or is just a way not to answer?

Proverbs 26v5 - Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

That was a sarcastic remark made at all who reject an MV because they don't like the way translation is done.

The obvious answer is "Of course no one would say that" and that is point.

Granny, people here DON'T HATE the KJV.

Yeah, they don't hate it but they love to change it, to make it fit what they want. I ask, what's the difference?

Would that answer apply equally as well when KJVO's make their "morning star" arguments?

Nowhere in these scriptures does the Lord Jesus Christ say that he is OR IS LIKE a roaring lion. He says he is: THE LION OF the tribe of Judah. He also says that he was delivered OUT OF THE MOUTH of the LION. If the NIV or any other version had changed the verse to: is like a roaring lion from the tribe of Judah, or was delivered out of the mouth of the roaring lion, then this would be a problem. As ROARING LION is describing Satan, and as the Lion from the tribe of Judah, is describing Jesus Christ. They are descriptive of the lion, unlike the verses dealing with morning star.

Love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,

In my understanding, they do hate it, as they attack it (God's preserved words) and say it has errors, where none exist, only to JUSTIFY BLATANT and OBVIOUS errors in their precious flavors of the month. It is like the diabetic that loves ice cream, and loves the different flavors, but can't seem to give it up, even when they have come to realize that even though it tastes good, and even though there is so much variety, that it is in the end not very good for them, and very unhealthy and would cause them to become ill.

love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,

Would Askjo or michelle or GrannyGumbo or RaptureReady please just tell me who the "son of man" is?????

michelle said "As ROARING LION is describing Satan, and as the Lion from the tribe of Judah, is describing Jesus Christ."

Ah, I see. So "morning star" and "the bright Morning Star" could also be different enough to possibly be referring to different individuals? Why are KJV-only people the only ones that are confusing them together, while the rest of us are not?

Who is the "king of kings" (Ezra 7:12, Ezra 26:7, Dan 2:37, Rev 17:4)?

Who is the "son of man" (Psalm 146:3, Isa 51:12, Ezek 2:1, Matt 9:6)
