I am certainly no fan of George Bush as of late, but lets get real. This storm was going to hit where it pleased regardless of what any government agency did. Come on democrats, you have plenty of material to work with without blaming the storm on him.

It's quite simple man has been able to manipulate the weather and reduce the fury of hurricanes for at least 40 years. Government refuses to let it be done because of greed. Denial doesn't change that no matter how many you repeat it. Sorry. [IMG]

I thought the video had the quote saying "we DON't KNOW if the hurricane will top the levees or not"

    </font>[/QUOTE]Bob

You may be correct. I could not understand what was said in the conference but relied on corrections issued by Fox News. In any event the concern was overflow of the levees, not breach. That is like the difference between dam overflow and dam break.

The following is apocryphal but demonstrates the animosity demonstrated by Christians on this Forum against a brother in Christ.

"The Pope is visiting Washington, D.C., and President Bush takes him out for an afternoon on the Potomac, sailing on the Presidential yacht, the Sequoia.

They're admiring the sights when, all of a sudden, the Pope's hat (zucchetto) blows off his head and out into the water.

Secret Service guys start to launch a boat, but president Bush waves them off, saying, "Wait, wait. I'll take care of this. Don't worry."

Bush then steps off the yacht onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Holy Father's little hat, bends over picks it up, then walks back to the yacht and climbs aboard. He hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.

The next morning, the headlines in the New York Times, Boston Globe, Atlanta Constitution, Washington Post, Boston Herald, and Louisville Courier Journal proclaim:

    BUSH CAN'T SWIM"

Denial does not change the fact that only God can control the weather.

    God speaks:

Nahum 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

The Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm....

It does not say man has his way. Man has no control over the weather. Man, because of scientific tests, can get advanced warnings of severe storms, but cannot steer, nor control that storm.

I have what I think is a valid question...

Why blast the president only for knowledge of the storm beforehand?

The people of NO knew beforehand and were told to evacuate beforehand. Why not blast them as well? After all, they disregarded the knowledge beforehand.

exactly. We ALL knew it was coming and it was gonna be a bad one. We used to live in New orleans, and everytime a hurricane was coming, the talk about the levees started. It wasnt a new concept. Everyone there knew the risks. I am very sorry for what has happened there. I mean, we have dear friends who lost every thing they owned, literally. But they arent blaming the president. They are thanking God for His mercy.

Whether or not Bush botched the response to Katrina (he did, and his own people admit it) is beside the point.

The point is that he lied when he said no one suspected that the levees would be breached, when the videotape clearly shows that he was told.

He knew, but he was hoping to avoid the consequences by lying about it.

    That's Nahum speaking SFC.

    God is speaking here.

Genesis 1:26 And God said , Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth , and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis tells us that man was given dominion over the earth, not the elements of the air. Weather is in God's hands, and in God's hands alone.

Poncho, let me ask you this...

If you think we have dominion over the weather, why did you not stop the hurricane? Surely the verse you are using as proof text gives all man the ability to stop a hurricane and not just this Livingston character you are placing in a position as some kind of god who has more power than the true God.

I don't have the airplanes and other equipment like Ben Livingston does. I never said he is more powerful than God those are words someone is apparently trying to insert in my mouth.

Well then maybe you should tell the Navy to take away Livingston's award for manipulating the weather in Viet Nam. Apparently they thought it was because of Livingston and his team's cloud seeding efforts.

Livingston did not manipulate the weather. God changed the weather. He is the one who has that control, not man.

No matter what 'seeding' is done, if God does not want it to rain, it will not rain. Man can blast clouds with powerful winds, but if God does not want that cloud to dissipate, it will not scatter.

It is God who holds back the rain, It is God who gives the rain.

Then Ben should have a whole bunch of lawsuits for false claims instead of happy repeat customers.

I also believe that God is in control but allows man to manipulate the weather. I do beleive that man can affect the environment and I believe that God will allow man to do so.
