    Here's some neat 105's. Note the one in the foreground with the extra seat - I believe that is a "Wild Weasel" model, the electronic warfare version. I remember we had some "Wild Weasel" F-4's just like that one.

    The F-105 couldn't make tight turns, that's one of the reasons so many of them were hit by SAMS in Vietnam. But they were ordnance beasts and were great ground attack aircraft. The 105's in that picture were out of Hill AFB a TAC base.

    Agreed. I also saw a picture of one loaded to the max - a very rugged and capable airframe for sure. Made by Republic Aviation, it was a worthy successor to their great WW2 aircraft, the P-47. It was amazing how quickly aviation progressed from the Wright brothers fabric planes to the high performance aircraft of WW2.
