Do you volunteer anywhere outside of the church you attend? If so, where and what do you do in your volunteer work?

Does volunteering at the camp that my church sponsors count?

The primary mission of this camp is to provide a place where inner city/underprivileged children can attend a wilderness camp (swimming, boating, horseback riding, etc.) for free. Most of them come from broken homes where there is no Christian influence at all.

While at camp, they're presented the gospel of Christ. In the over 25 years of this camp's existence, hundreds--perhaps thousands--of young people have committed their lives to Christ and have gone on to become witnesses for Christ in their own homes and neighborhoods....places that in many cases are drug-infested and crime-ridden.

One place I volunteer is at the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center as an usher. I get to volunteer for at least 8 shows every two months. Beats paying prices for the Broadway shows I want to see!! I have been doing this since 2002.

I spent 21 years as a volunteer firefighter/EMT-firstresponder. I had to leave that when my knee got worse. Nobody wants to enter a burning house with someone who falls down on level ground.

I am still a Assistant Scout Master but I have had limited time to work with them lately.
