I don't get the humor. Besides, all websites DO have a number. Their IP Address. DNS Servers let you use human friendly domains, but they point to a "number"

http://209.225.35.43 typed into your addess bar on your browser will bring up recovery.gov.

Of course IP's are not a proper method to reach a website in this era. Once upon a time each website had a static IP address, but now most web sites are served up on shared IP addresses. So, one IP address may represent 100's of websites. Don't tell me Biden was planning on also setting the proper headers to identify the website he wanted!

    hahahaha ..

Yes, how foolish of us to think that Joe Biden is just out of touch with the internet. Of course he meant the IP address. Definitely.

I'm very mad at how the media portrayed this whole interview! They obviously cut it up to make him look bad. Vice President Biden later proceeded to break down line-by-line all of the HTML coding used to create the Recovery webpage as well. He KNOWS what he's talking about!

You guys just don't cut an old fart any slack, do ya? I hear Joe is going to visit Dubya and they will surf the Internets looking up the web site numbers. Then Dubya will sell him some wood. Then they will send a thank you card to Gore.

That's funny .. I wanted to say "internets" but I was afraid nobody would remember that.

I love me some internets! Especially internets numbers!

It appears that one genre of conservatives can be just as petty and irrational as those liberals who sought after every slip op on Pres Bush's part to criticise him.

This story is at least as petty as Qualye's potatoe/potato story.

I wonder how many sermons would survive this kind of scrutiny unscathed?

Exactly right. It it okay to criticize politicians for policy, but petty personal attacks over minor human foibles is ridiculous. I also thought people making fun of President Bush over choking on a pretzel was over the top, even though I think he was a horrible president. We are all fallible.
