I have heard other denominations try to convince me Jesus was married to Marry Magdalene or that he married someone else in Cannan. However, I think it is more likely he was married solely to the church?

There is no evidence Jesus married.

This story is very old. It is premised, usually, thst Jesus didnt die on the cross, and was later married.

It probably first started in the 2nd or 3rd century. The Knights Templars (from middle ages) claimed to be descendents of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

They sort merged into the Masonic Order.

Don't buy into it. It is filled with heresy.

    Jesus had brothers and sisters.

Fortunately we have no family record of Jesus brethren - physical descendants of Mary and Joseph.

    Can you imagine....

Yes it is. Covers most angles in the discussion without getting too deep in the weeds.

They also believe Jesus was a man that evolved into a god based on his good deeds.

They also believe God the Father was a man that evolved into a god based on His good deeds.

They also believe God the Father came the earth and had a s*xual relationship with Mary, making Him and Mary adulters.

You might want to be careful looking to M*rman doctrine for answers.

They also believe they will evolve into gods and get their own universe to rule.

There is a town in N. Honshu, Japan, that says the grave of Jesus is there. They say Judas died in His place, allowing Jesus to escape to Japan, where he married a Japanese and had a bunch of kids. Supposedly there are a bunch of descendents of Jesus in the area. In reality, what is there is probably the grave of a Nestorian missionary around the 10th century.

Any idea of any "Christian" denomination to the effect that Jesus was married is just about as ridiculous. There is not the slightest shred of evidence that Jesus married in the Bible, the early church fathers, Josephus, The History of the Church by Eusebius, or any other ancient source.

John, did you minister in that area?
    If so,
When the locals were informed of the truth -what was their response

I never actually ministered in that area, but have an article from a Japanese magazine about it. Here's a link with information: The Little-Known Legend of Jesus in Japan | History | Smithsonian

In typical Japanese fashion, the locals have turned the story into a tourist attraction and are making money from it. Therefore, I suppose if one were to argue with them they would smile and go on their way, as long as the truth did not interfere with their money-making. Cynical, I know--but I preached to Japanese for 33 years as you know. :(

This reminds me of the line from The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence:
This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

That would have been difficult, since Buddha supposedly lived over 400 years before Christ, and never left India.
