Was Paul married at one time?

To us who believe, take God's Word by faith, written by the Holy Spirit, and believe it to be the very Word of God, then the point is moot and poses no problem.

But from an apologetic point of view it can be important. There are many liberals and feminists who charge Paul as being "a male chauvinist," and many other such things. Evidence that he was married and had authority to write on marriage from experience is often a good defense in "giving an answer to every man that asks you a reason..." (1Pet.3:15).

    Hello to All,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't being married one of the requirements for the Sanhedrin?

And isn't it thought that Paul was a member?

    God bless.

My Friend, if you will point out where I implied that any verse in the Word of God should be "ignored," I will publicly recant that implication.

Paul clearly expresses that he is giving us his opinion in verse 12. Granted, by virtue of the fact that it is contained in the holy Scriptures, it is equally inspired. However, some might find comfort in knowing that Paul was speaking from personal knowledge of the marriage relationship as well as by inspiration.

I agree that this question has no theological significance, but it certainly has hermeneutic interest.
