Bowflex wrote to OMM/OMD: "We regret that Bowflex ads appeared during the show that offends you. However, please be assured that we will be pulling Bowflex ads from Nip/Tuck."

Since June, OMM/OMD has influenced ten companies to change their advertising practices!

Now let's encourage the Ameriquest Mortgage Company . Ameriquest was a sponsor of this week's episode of Nip/Tuck on FX network.

I don't see the big deal here.

    Why is this an issue?

It's not the ads, it's the show "Nip/Tuck" that is not worth watching, IMHO. It is shown on a minor network called FX.

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought it was the other way around. [IMG]

But one thing I don't really understand: how do these people who start these petitions know what commercials are on during the show, unless they're watching the show in the first place? [IMG]

They are just watching these shows for the commercials. [IMG]

You guys are really acting petty for Christians. The newest petition I got was about a Fox network show that, in the June 10th issue, had a prostitute with a horse. It was shown just after a show for kids. It was aired at 9 o'clock in the evening when millions of youngsters were watching. In fact, Fox scheduled "Keen Eddie" to immediately follow "American Juniors", a wholesome show tremendously popular with teens and preteens.

I have a link where anyone who has the stomach for it can read the dialogue from the show. I'd rather just take their word for it and sign the petition.

There ARE people who care enough about our children that they monitor things like television and alert Christian parents to the dangers and inappropriate shows. You can watch what you want. I don't care. BUT, I'm thankful that there are those who assist me in protecting my family from satan's lures.

    So, go ahead and laugh.

Relax. Just a small joke.

That's wonderful. I've even signed these sorts of petitions myself.

But I do one better than these petition folks. I simply don't let my kids watch *anything* on Fox or other similar stations, nor watch *anything* on any channel after a certain time in the evening. I'm not interested in weeding out this and that from already-questionable networks and shows and timeslots, I just dump the whole thing.

Sorry, Diane. I was just making a play on the idea that people buy Playboy magazine for the articles.

I commend people who work through the private sector to strike a blow for wholesome programming on television. [IMG]

I'm sorry I took that wrong guys! I thought you were making fun of Sue and myself for these petitions. I'm glad I was mistaken!
