Another example of turning the thread "What about the Greek?" into a KJO thing. I wonder why folks even bother to get on these thread if they are so incensed at the comments of those that they oppose. Surely, it is not to enter into honest discussion. -- Herb Evans

I do not hide the fact that hate filled discussion of the KJV debate will not be tolerated here.

We have covered the topic ad naseum on this board.

C4, I understand . . . very much so. Latch on to any slight comment that someone makes and use it to close the thread that you do not like. I'm used to it. But at the same time, you are telegraphing this to the readers.-- Herb Evans

I am happy to let our readers judge the reasonableness of my actions.

You chose to ignore this comment

which was directed toward a poster who made a charge that a KJV site was unsafe for family viewing.

Well, Herb Evans did not exhibit any hate in this thread. His opponents did, however. So what you are saying is that everytime a KJO starts a thread, his opponents can kill the thread by putting a little hate upon him. Obviously, a woman telling a man to shut up and falsely accuse him is to be ignored. What I do on my own debate list, as the mofderator, is to rebuke the offender as you sometimes have done. We have a smooth running debate list, and we do not have to micromanage it to get orderly results. And both sides are allowed to present their case.-- Herb Evans

Simple - use the "report post" button.

I'll give you the chance to have the last word, then the debate will be closed.

Herb: //So what you are saying is that everytime a KJO starts a thread, his opponents can kill the thread by putting a little hate upon him.//

The street goes both ways. All a KJO has to do is bad mouth
a Freedom Reader and the thread gets squashed.

Herb, read your PMs. Thank you.

I am not offended at hype and lack of substance. My opponents can accuse me of worshipping the KJB all day long without me being offended. I recognize that line of argument for what it is. Actually, it helps my case along with accusations of red herrings and straw men. -- Herb Evans

    Mister Evans,

    A pertinent note...

C4K is KJV preferred in his approach. He's been quite even-handed in this thread.

Having seen your posts here and on other boards, I feel confident in saying you seem to enjoy strife and contention more than you should. Perhaps you should work on gentle answers.

HErb: //My opponents can accuse me of worshipping the KJB all day long//

you never gave us a chance to say the majority
of us freedom readers ignore such claims :(

Yup, that is what I am saying, and that is what is being done along with provoking those KJO's to say something offesive as has happened to me. Now, I've given the game away. The way around it is either snip the offender's comments or rebuke the offender. -- Herb Evans

Back to the Greek and Bowels. -- Herb Evans

    BOWELS

Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. (Acts 1:18). Bowels appears thirty-nine times in the AV in thirty-seven verses. The word comes from the French boel, from a Latin word meaning "a sausage." Bowels can be the interior of something, although the term is commonly applied to internal body organs in general and the intestines in particular. It also has the meaning of compassionate feelings. The NKJV completely removes the word, but our other modem versions slip up and leave it in on several occasions. The word bowels is variously rendered in our modern versions as "affections," "hearts," "stomach," "entrails," "body," "intestines," and "womb." In one passage where bowels is found, the simple word belly is altered by the NASB and NIV to "abdomen (Num. 5:22),” while converting the phrase "fifth rib" in the AV to "belly (2 Sam. 20:10)." In spite of these manifold corrections, the NRSV neglects to remove bowels on six occasions (Num. 5:22; 2 Chron. 21:15, 18, 19; Acts 1:18) the NASB forgets five times (2 Chron. 21:15, 18, 19; Acts 1:18) and the NIV overlooks this archaic word four times (2 Chron 21:15, 18,19; Acts 1:18). After leaving bowels in the text as it stands, the NASB in one verse gives us "and make your womb discharge, your uterus drop!" in opposition to all other modern versions. (Num. 5:32). Even today, however, the word bowels can be found not applied to the intestines: "These cosmic wraths only reveal themselves when the great torrent of other radiation is absent, which is why the enormous cavern has been built in the bowels of the earth."232

Yet you refuse to use the "report post" button.

Everyone let Herb get the last word in so I can close the thread please. I would hate to be accused of being biased ;).

I wonder how much more we can "stomach"
At least no one has said "I hate your guts"
I'm just trying to "digest' all I've seen here
    Food for thought, eh?
This thread? I say "liver" alone!

OK...I've contributed to the demise now. You're welcome.

Seems this is almost turning into a "bash C4K" thread! Every time I have not agreed with something Roger has said or done, I have stopped, taken a deep breath, and stepped back and looked at it more objectively. I can honestly say that, although I may not agree with him 100% of the time, I find Roger to be very fair. Roger is a KJVP, and he doesn't hate the KJVOs. Let's give the guy a fair break, the way he always gives us a fair break!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled debate...

A request for our regular members please.

Lets leave this thread for Herb to make any closing statement he wants to make. This thread is already far beyond the bounds of reasonable debate.

Well, this is whole other can of worms here, brother Herb. How insulting. But, you don't do that kind of thing do you? This isn't church Herb. You have no authority over me here.

My apologies to anyone I offended by saying KJVO's worship that version. I did not know it wasn't allowed. That's just how I see it, but I will avoid that phrase in the future.

I'm sorry C4k, I hadn't read your previous post when I posted this.
