I just do not understand it. How could anyone vote for a man whose greatest influences have been (and still are) undeniably Marxist, who went to a church for 20+ years and yet denies everything that he heard there, who admittedly wants to 'redistribute wealth', who supports baby killing at any stage of pregnancy?

All I can guess is that he is just so smooth that no one is really paying attention to what he is saying.

Has everyone forgotten history? Khrushchev said: "Historians are the most powerful and dangerous members of any society. They must be watched carefully... They can spoil everything." He also said: "The press is our chief ideological weapon." And again:

I once said, "We will bury you," and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.

Well, for 40 years I was a right wing wack job but the ACLU forgave me and took my dues money.

When I was in high school we made pipe bombs, rockets and nitrogen tri-iodide. Almost burned down the woods behind my house. A kid having the same fun these days would be called a terrorist.

I don't get it either... How can people that have the Holy Spirit sin against God by promoting an evil man such as this? Obama is pure evil. His stands against the moral absolutes of God are atrocious and we have Christians on this board promoting this agent of Satan.

I was always taught that if a person sins and feels no guilt about it, they may not be saved... I could have been taught wrong, because apparently a lot of Christians in this nation are going to sin on Nov. 4th by supporting Homosexuality and Abortion... and they will walk out of the polling places proud of what they did... no guilt or conviction from the Holy Spirit within them.

Yes, I said it because I believe it, and I have a right to my opinion... along with the fact that the Bible condemns the things Obama and his supporters support. Voting for Obama is a sin... If you cast your vote for someone that supports Abortion and Homosexuals... you are sinning.

That may not be PC in this post modern world, and some have the ability to seperate their secular lives from the hour they spend in church on Sundays...

BTW.. I don't like McCain either.

people on this board are promoting sin, calling sin ok, theres nothing wrong with sin. Doing exactly what scripture condemns, calling evil good, and good evil. And enjoying it, with no problems about sin.
I ask, is this a christian attitude towards sin?
Should this be allowed by this board, a christian board, to have people promoting sin?

The Holy Spirit will not allow God's people to live like this and not convict them. So either there are christians who ignore the Holy Spirit to do their own sinful thing, or there are people who are not christians who have no Holy Spirit to ignore.

    100% agreement

Christians should never be PC if they are they may be correct according to the world, but not according to God.

He's probably not the best possible, but he isn't a baby killer who preaches socialism/ communism who wants to lead our country into atheism.

I think in the case of many Democrats, their desire to win blinds them to any flaws their candidate has as obvious as those might be. Many others are blinded by their hate for Bush, and feel this is the only way to send that message. Then there are others that are just plain ignorant on what he believes, and just like how he looks and sounds. Another group feel that Obama is the right man that would gain us acceptance from other countries around the world, and that is important to them.

It is sad though that he has a real chance of becoming president. I still believe that when it comes down to it many of the undecided won't be able to pull the lever for him when actually faced with the choice and McCain will win.

I hope and pray that you are right, but I fear that many people are crying, "The voice of a god, and not of a man!" (Acts 12:22) instead of listening to what God himself is saying.

Hmmm, the silence from some is deafening to me... I thought for sure this would get some thoughtful response from the "other side".

One thought I have had about Obama's popularity is that many in the 20-30s crowd are Obama supporters. These are the "fruits" of a liberal, anti-christian education in public schools and universities. These have been indoctrinated for years in the school system so that a socialist anti-american government seems good to them.

    Just my thoughts...

That may be true, RB, but I find it interesting that this thread has had over 235 views and not one person has taken it upon themselves to deny that the words of Khrushchev are coming to pass before our very eyes.

Consider that when a word of truth is fitly spoken there is no defense for the wicked or the convicted!

As for the Khrushchev quote, sometimes God allows evil men to give us warning of their intentions and designs, which should alert us to be watchful and discerning of the times and the principalities of powers surrounding us, so that we guard our defense and rid ourselves of the weeds before they get too much a strong hold in the garden he has given us..... I speak figuratively. It is true of a man, of a church, of the religious and secular institutions, and it is true of governments. But, when we have watchmen on the wall, and even the good men among us ridicule them as 'fear mongers' or 'people in tinfoil hats' then we are not helping tear through the veil of deceipt..... which by design is the devil's MO in crime..... but we are failing to develop our own defence and are encouraging others to apathy as well.

Apathetic Christians who have been taught that politics and religion don't mix will swoon to the latest attraction along with the rest of the world....... having little root in themselves to care. :tear: Sadly I wonder, how many will stand in the Day of Judgement and then say "LORD" and He will say "Depart from me ye workers of iniquity! I NEVER knew YOU!" How truely sad!:tear:

No, unfortunately he turned out to be what I thought he would be when he was running the first time, awful. I never have been a fan. But also unfortunately I believe Bush's damages would pale in comparison as to how bad I believe Obama would be.
