I have my children this weekend, but they're going to their Mom after church on Sunday (Mom, who is no longer involved in a chuch, wanted them at 9am, but I compromised and agreed to let them go home after the first service.

But after that, I'm taking my own mom to the Angels game. Woohoo!!!!

Usually my Mom comes with us to church for the special Mothers day service, it's her favorite. She lives in South Central L.A. so it's a bit of a drive. I'm not sure if she is coming this year or not...I should probably call her.

As for what anyone is doing for me...I haven't a clue. D's been so busy with work, I'm not sure if he remembers. And the kids...well, they're young, they need reminding...but I'm not going to remind them. [IMG]

Hey, If I can get away with not cooking I'll be one happy camper. [IMG]

We'll probably cook out and I'll get a charm for my bracelet or pajama's. That's the usual gifts... LOL. Nick will make me a card and Jon has offered to do some things for me that Dad has not done like put up a new bird house, plant some shrubs I bought weeks ago, etc.

I got pictures of one of the grandbabies as a present already. I am pretty uncomfortable with fancy gifts. Several years in a row our son and his wife sent me live Maine Lobsters. The recipe book that came with them showed that what they had sent came to over $150. That really bothered me even tho I LOVE lobster.

I will go to church and then come home and let Kenny my 15 year old BarBQ me something to eat. Amanda who is 14 will be in the kitchen preparing the rest of the goodies. This should be very interesting...I'm sure. Since neither have ever done this. The rest of the kids will probably run in and out.

My Mom, Dad, Sister, her husband and their kids are coming down from Hotlanta. My other sister will come over and that's a mouthful. After church we will sit down for a Honey Baked Ham lunch with all the trimmings. We'll kick back, pass all the babies around and eventually fall asleep.

    Oh, right Jon,,Mothering Sunday.......

My wife's father has alzheimers and is in a nursing home. We are taking wife's mother to the home and we will have a quiet dinner with her father,,,,,that will be a nice Mother's Day for Mary's mother.

I visit the old folks home here in our village and deliver a rose to each lady there, have a word of prayer with them and let it go at that.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Wont get to be with my mother or my mother in law since its on a Sunday and we cant drive to see them. Probably hubby and babies will take me to eat at Chili's. Then we'll rush home and get there in time to get to the next church activity (which very few will attend because its Mothers Day, but the pastor's family can't skip church. [IMG] ) But being with my girls is sweet everyday, and I am so very thankful to be a mama and have someone to love. my husband is usually really sweet about gifts and such, but he always has cringed at Mother's Day from bad childhood experiences with it.

Will probably see my Mom Sunday afternoon, with card(s)and gift. She's 84, and 'sharp as a tack'. I am very grateful for that, and especially for the kind of mother she was/is. When I get home, I will do EVERYTHING  'Momma' tells me/us to do, which I guess includes a day working in the yard! (I HATE WORKING IN THE YARD! ). Oh well, "if Momma ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy!"

My oldest daughter and three grandsons are coming down from Indiana to spend the day with me. We were going to eat out, but everyplace will be packed tomorrow and we thought we could have a better visit at home. Hubby is feeding us all KFC. I don't have to cook! If it's nice, we will be eating outside.

Those restaurant's will be packed! We're going to have a cook out like I thought and I got 2 charms for my bracelet. Hubby had to make me take it off to have them put on. The jeweler solders them on for me.

I got a rose bush, ceramic milk pitcher and candy from baby Jack, Scott and Sandra. It looks like I'll have a new granddaughter (our daughter's newest baby) by tomorrow too! I think they've let ME name her but we'll see. I like Mikayla Elizabeth.

    Happy Mother's Day, all!

Dan made French toast for breakfast. He washed the dishes afterward. He plans on barbequeing tonight.

The kids made me cards, Haven made an acrostic poem out of the word MOTHER all on her own...and she made a net bag tied with ribbon filled with potpouri. she's 8. Jordan (10) made me a coaster out of ice cream sticks. Lauren (4) gave me the gift of waking me up to her screaming at the top of her lungs "I Love You Mommy!"

Right now they are giving me the greatest gift of all...time to myself. Dan took the kids with him shopping.I'm normally with the children 24/7 excluding school for the two oldest ones. I even dream about them. So this is a much appreciated gift.

Oh, and I almost forgot...Jordan my almost 11 year old has this really bad habbit of complaining whenever I say anything to him. He caught himself mid-sentence to stop himself. I asked him "Where you just going to complain?" and he smiled at me sheepishly, and said "Not on Mothers Day, I love you Mom" I love that! [IMG]
