For the first time in my 20+ years of ministry (Man, am I getting old!) I have undertaken to preach through the book of Hebrews. Tomorrow we deal with 3:7-19. Wow! What great truths in this book, but what a heavy responsibility to present them (as with all of God's Word) accurately. I'm just especially feeling that need this week. I think you pastors will understand. What are the rest of you preaching on? Or, normal people, (not pastors :D ) what has your pastor been preaching on lately?

I've been working through Luke, unless some need in the congregation makes me rethink that and go a different way. Next meeting I will probably use Acts, as we are getting ready to ordain a new deacon. That is unless I see a need between now and then to go another way.

    Non-preacher answer:
My pastor just finished preaching a series that took us through 1st and 2nd Timothy. It was great!

Today he started a 3-week series on "foundational truths." The first one today was marriage (he included in his message the issue of same-sex marriage and how the church needed to stand for Biblical marriage). Next week is on how we are created in the image of God and how this affects our worldview vs. believing we are the result of evolution. The 3rd week will be on the Holy Spirit, how believers need to know they must live by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

I personally think my pastor is an excellent preacher - he always sticks to the Word and preaches from it, encouraging us how to apply it in our lives. Great expository preaching.

We're just finishing a series in "The Adventures of Moses" (Exodus 1-20) and moving on to show the relationship of law and grace by dealing for a while with Galatians. R. Charles Blair - Ro. 8:28

This Sunday I am preaching on my old fav. John 3:16. I think I have some twenty sermons on that one verse (application sermons) ranging form God's love to God's gift to (this sunday's) "If God gave you so much, what are you giving Him in return?"

Great texts in Jeremiah. No particular order but will cover most chapters (some with more than one sermon) before I'm done.

Lots of parallels and applications to life today . .

I am currently visiting churches, but the pastor at the one that I am fairly settled on is preaching in the Psalms the entire summer. The series is entitled "Psalms Alive", and it has been great so far...

    In Christ,
