    The author guides the reader through the year 1908, a year in which optimism ran high and everything and anything seemed possible. The was the year the Wright Brothers proved flight was feasable by flying for 2 1/2 hours without landing, the production of the first Model T and the race to the North Pole. Teddy Roosevelt was president. Progressiveism was very popular, especially among the rich and anarchists, they were also called libertarians, though few on number, caused much concern. Night riders burned tobacco warehouses and farmers fields who cooperated with big business that had formed an unholy alliance within the industry and offered less per pound than it cost the farmers to raise the crop.

    Thanks for posting that. I had no idea the book was out, and I was thinking yesterday that it would be really entertaining to read another one of his response books. He really like to twist people's tails.
