    Some deep reads, especially books by NT Wright. What is the book Future Grace about?

    Oh yes I have books on my shelf but I never read them .
    I just like the colors like Hendrickson's commentaries are yellow and you know so the other ones are green and blue and they make a nice color on the bookshelf
    once in awhile I'll look you know someone mentions a guy I'll try to look it up but I really try not to learn from them at all cuz its just me and you know my BiblE.

    Well no I can't defend that context really
    I don't find any problem with a proof text here and there
    after all I find that all I need is John chapter 3 verse 16 2nd Peter chapter 3 and verse 9 and you know John chapter 12 verse 32 do we really need any more versus besides these three?

    I gave upon reading those things years ago. I bought a few that claimed to be sermon illustrations, but I have yet to find a single picture....and this from "Christian" publishers. Anyway, l have few big ones (the strongest I could find) to use as lap trays, and they do just fine. And I'm sure Tim will find that the NT Wright book will make a great booster seat, if he is an incredibly short person.

    I appreciate the dust that collects on books;especially the old ones. It creates a wonderfully antiquarian atmosphere.

    Since we're a bit off topic, I'll note this...

    Any of us reading the Bible in an English translation, or even the reconstructed Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts, should be thankful others decided to read other books than the Bible. Without that learning we wouldn't have the English translation you hold in your hands.

    It is good to challenge ourselves to read, broadly and deeply, other texts than the Bible. My personal life is richer for the many books I read through the year. Even in the NT there are plentitudes of evidence that the writers of the NT read deeply and used that education to broaden the Scripture they penned. So let's be happy to read other things that draw us closer to God.
