4-Christ, while I appreciate your enthusiasm, perhaps you can take a look at this link and see what posting in all caps means. [IMG] Online Etiquette

    I'm IFB.
    Why would you change denoms?

    Dude, or Dudette

Since this is a Baptist Board most of the responses in this part will be Baptist. Also, being Baptist is more of a statement of doctrine of scripture than it is a denomination, although the world will dispute that. Also, as a Baptist, there are many types of Baptist as there are different types of Americans such as: Rebels, Surfer, Cowboys, Yankees, Cheese heads, Mountain people, Hillbilly's, Mid-Westerner's and so on.

I'm quite sure that you will find many Independent Baptists, Missionary Baptists, Primitive Baptists, as well as Sufferin', (sorry) Southern Baptists. :D [IMG]

4-Christ, keep on posting, most of us are glad you are here and that you are on fire for God!! AMEN!!

I'm Southern Baptist. As far as what church you should attend, that is a very personal and prayerful decision. I will pray that you either stick with your current church or find a church that you can plug into and bestow that wonderful spirit you have! God Bless You!!

    Southern Baptist here!

4-Christ, before you change churches (or denominations), make sure that the beliefs that are upheld are the same as your own. Doing this upfront will save you a lot of heartache later on.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

The SBC is not a denomination but a convention.

The "C" in SBC stands for convention.

Hmmmm... I attend a "Home Church" fellowship in Miami. I am just a "Living Stone" and part of the church. I and my family also attend various bible-teaching denominational fellowships as well...

I received notice that my "home church" remarks may not be appropriate for this "denonminational" forum. Although I am a strong supporter of the "Baptist" movement (I am a voting member at an SBC church) I am also a strong advocate of the "Home Church" movement. I have nothing more to add than that... Where in Miami Creemos?? I grew up in the Cutler Ridge area...I went to FBC of Cutler Ridge as a kid. I started attending FBC Perrine as an adult (I miss it terribly!), which is where I got saved!!

I've personally considered leaving the SBC altogether in favor of a Presbyterian (PCA)or Reformed (RCA) tradition. I have family members who are in both denominations.

It seems every time I put a foot out the door, somethin' always pulls me back. I guess my work ain't done there yet [IMG]

My "membership" is in a Missionary Baptist Church (BMA). I am "reformed" in my theology, unlike most of my immediate brethren who have forsaken these original beliefs of our state BMA Association.

27 years worth of SBC, but now non-denominational. I think denominations get in the way too much of what we're ultimately here for.
