Scott,

I am not talking about those who have denied God's Word. There are some who honestly just don't believe that the KJV is the only version where the Word of God resides. I might be able to have some fellowship with them, but it doesn't mean I'd go to their church. [IMG]

The OP asked "what does KJVO mean to YOU"?
To me it means;
1. That I can know that I have God's pure, unadulterated, perfectly preserved, Holy words.
2. That through those very words, I can know my Creator.
3. That through those words I can know that my God is reconciled through my Redeemer's blood shed for me.
4. That I have total assurance and perfect peace that those very words are the EXACT words of God.
5. That I can know (for my Bible tells me so) that there will be some who will try to shake my faith in those words; whether those doubt-sowers be of the household of faith or of the world.
6. That I can know with whom I should have fellowship with. (Can two walk together except they be agreed?)
7. That I can know that I am right (or not) with God.
8. That through those very words of God, I can know how to behave myself in this evil world.
9. That through those very words I can know what is wrong (or right) with MOST people I encounter.
In summation:
Being KJVO to me means being Bible Only in all of my faith and practice.

Nobody asked, but I thought I'd chime in anyway;

What does using the HCSB (Christian Standard
Bible /Holman, 2003/ ) mean to you?

To me it means;
1. That I can know that I have God's pure, unadulterated, perfectly preserved, Holy words
In 21st Century (2001-2100) English.
Using the HCSB to me means being Bible Only
in all of my faith and practice.

This isn't what it means:
That I have the moral highground and
can browbeat my wrong-book-ies. :(

it's late.......I grow weary........

being KJVO HERE on the BB also means that if we admit it we will be brow-beaten and ridiculed and castigated for brow-beating and ridiculing when most of us have only stated our viewpoint on the Bible.

I want to Learn About my Savior and I beleive that I cannot go Wrong with the KJB; It is a Pearl of great price and i will not sell it or cast my pearls before Swine . Also I want to be a Fundamentalist in every aspect that Christ has for me! Especially thru His Word! I have faith that the KJB will Stand thru out the test of Time! Thanx an God bless! P.S. It ONLY means that some one came up with a labeling system to denigrate other believers for their stand on the preservation of God's Word to the English speaking people.

I cannot be "KJVO" in any regard of that system. Why not? Because I know the Bible is also preserved in many other languages. The Bible was written in the Original Tongues before God inspired the KJB. I have an inspired Bible. I have an infallible Bible. I have an inerrant Bible, one w/o contradiction or error. I have researched all the claims by the "other" camp and find none of them able to remain substanciated in regards to any error in the KJB beyond spelling corrections and punctuation marks. I have found many misleading wordings in other versions so I stick with what I know God gave.The entire premise for other newer, "easily understood" versions always attacks the KJB in the effort to promote them.

The entire premise behind the "label" is derogatory, especially since the labeler has done nothing more than be derogatory in response. :mad:

Read one of Sanderson's essays about KJVO. He describes to me what KJVO-ism is.

In my opinion, Sanderson goes overboard and is very radical.

</font>
Amen, Salamander!

KJVO is not a title I cling to, although, as I have said before, I adhere to the KJV more than any other Bible.

I teach and preach from the KJV. Why? Because I do believe the Spirit has witnessed to my heart that it is inerrant.

What does that have to do with the OP? and just what do you mean by wrong-book-ies? Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.

I do find it interesting that the translators, even though they may have been paedobaptist, did not weave their beliefs on that subject into the translation. That there ought to tell people that they stuck to the text throughout the translating of the TR to the KJB.

Hey Granny! [IMG] I like that straight stick, too!

As to how being KJVO has affected my life, it means I know that I have God's Word. I used to be riddled with doubt........if there are problems in ALL the versions than how do we know that any of it is right? I can point to a place where I know we have the very Words of God unto salvation, and that God has preserved His Word for me so that I can understand how to be saved.

Maybe some don't need it, but I do need to know that I can rely on my Bible.

I don't think all KJVO's are a follower of a single man... though they often adopt and repeat information from people they would claim separation from. It gets passed along 3rd and 4th hand.

The KJVO's I have interacted with haven't been defenders of the KJV though. They have defiled/besmirched it by claiming false things about it.

</font>
Let's revise, shall we...

To lump every defender of MODERN VERSIONS into one monolithic camp and to pretend that all believe the same thing and march to the same piper's tune in regard to Bible texts and versions is either ignorance or dishonesty. It is one thing to criticize the perceived errors and extremism and peculiarities of some individual personality. That is easy to do inasmuch as every member of the human race is peculiar and prone to mistakes! It is quite another thing to pretend that all defenders of the MODERN VERSIONS are followers of some man. Many, though, are guilty of doing this very thing. They are caught up with the personalities of the movement and refuse to face the real issues

It goes both ways...

Mexdeaf--

You need to read the article on that link before "editing" it -- ok. I'm not going to say any more about it because the OP is not wanting this thread to turn into a debate. I think that only people who love and defend the KJV should be posting, due to the title of the thread.

I've noticed one common and pretty consistent characteristic of those who hate KJVOers (and I say that they hate us becasue that's what they act like) and that is their testimony. Look how nasty they get so quickly. Look at all the snide remarks, the hateful mocking, the ridiculing. And they will deny it up and down till they pass out but they cannot defend themselves because it's true.

If I were a new Christian who didn't know anything about Bible versions/translations and I simply read the tone of the posts in here from both sides, I'd be a KJVOer just because of their testimony vs. the others. Just my observation, just like, "the sky is blue."

(Sit back and watch the stones fly now...)
