    Hello All,

Hope you are having a great weekend!

I am looking for input on what features/additions you believe would add value for you the user to BaptistBoard.com. No idea is too crazy or out of the ordinary!

The ability to rate a post would be of interest. There are times I'd love to just say "Amen!" to a post. If those were added up, say under the stars? Thanks!

We used to get email without revealing our email address, any chance of that - or did I miss something.

Can we add a stabilizing feature so that the page doesn't take 10 seconds to quit bouncing around? Might just be me, but the screen repaints SEVERAL times before quieting down.

To be able to add pictures to a post like we used, quick and easy
like Rachel said, more then 4 smilies,
    and,
it would be nice if we could use just one word, like, amen, or one smilie to give approval, and not have to have 8 whatever before it would post.

Have a "Biography" section in the Member's Profile for those who wish to tell a little something about themselves.

I REALLY think that pulling in the left and right margins by 50% would give a more professional look. The current display screams "factory direct!"

Also, the current way of inserting images requires that one have his own web space somewhere, and to link to the image in the post. So far as I know, the ownership of such web space can be ascertained easily by savvy readers, and so linking to such space is tantamount to publishing one's identity, which some posters (like me  ) prefer to withold. If we could have some space here (after, say, ten or twenty posts so you could check us out first  ), we could upload our own smilies, .sig graphics, etc.

(Or do I not understand the IMG method? )

On the old BB, the first page to come up was the recent posts.

I liked the last 20 or so posts being on the startup page.

I know how to click on "today's posts," etc., but I'm really lazy.

    I'm with SCB!

That was one thing about the Air Force---us acft maintenance grunts were more than willing to fix the planes so that the officers could get shot down!!

Dr. Bob tried a 'test' thread for 'military only' to see if there was enough interest for the vets to have their own forum.

It died out after a few pages...

Someone else is calling for a 'seniors forum' age 65 and up. These types of forums would have to be private and have their own moderator.

On the senior forum, I can only think of 3 members who would qualify to even post there...

There needs to be a lot of interest to start new forums or we're just wasting time, space, and moderators.

I would suggest that the military and the seniors just start their own thread in the Men's Private Forum.

As for adding features, I would like to be able to read my private messages in the email that informs me that I have one.

The old format gave us that option. If it was important, we could go to our profile and handle it immediately. If not, we could just read the message in our email and tend to it later.

Is this new format less able to support a lot of people posting? I kept getting "server busy" messages last night and just got one now. This means I have to stop and rearrange my schedule in order to come back and read and post.

I never had this problem before on the old BB.

I hope this gets posted! :type:

I have gotten that a time or two, I generaly wait a few seconds/10-20 and then click the button again, either to read a post, or see the new topics etc.

The system has always let me through the second time. I think this is a setting within vBullentin (the forum software) where the Admin can set the simultaneous sessions allowed and the server load. When there are more sessions than allowed, you will get this error.

I am sure Andrew is working on getting these tweaked for maximum preformance to the users without killing the server in the process.

It indeed was a server load problem. This server only hosts this forum and another, and it appears we will need to invest in some faster hardware. We have optimized this server twice and both times it has made a difference.
