What God expects out of Christians

    IF YOU HAVE YOUR BIBLES James 2:10-13
    ===============
    As I said......back in the middle of Chapter one:
    -----------------
    There is a point being made.....in this part of the Bible:
    About what is expected.....out of Christians!
    ------------------------
    This point can be seen as......a line drawn: Between...salvation by grace:
    And the good works....that “prove we are saved”!
    ===============
    LETS READ THE TEXT James 2:10-13
    ===============


    ===============
    V.10A “For whosoever shall keep the whole law,”
    -THE HEART’S DESIRE....OF EVERY TRUE CHRISTIAN-
    (We want...to please the LORD in everything:)
    So we want....to keep every commandment:
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY.....IMPOSSIBLE GOAL-
    To keep the whole law:
    ------------------------
    This is why....Jesus had to come and die for us!
    ===============
    V.10B “and yet offend in one [point],”
    -THE WRONG ATTITUDE...WE CAN HAVE ABOUT THE LAW-
    (Saying......“We are saved by Grace:”)
    And.......“So we aren’t....under the law!”
    -------------------------------------------
    Of course we don’t need the law...for salvation:
    But the law is good & should be kept:
    For the most part!
    ------------------------
    Disregarding things like....dietary restrictions and the Sabbath:
    But we would do them...if we thought it pleased the LORD!
    ===============
    V.10C “he is guilty of all.”
    -A SINGLE STATEMENT.....WITH SEVERAL RESPONSES-
    (Because it’s such.....an emphatic statement:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    -DISPROVING THE IDEA THAT GOOD WORKS....CAN MAKE UP FOR BAD WORKS-
    (No amount of good works)
    Can make up.....for one single sin!
    --------------------------------------------------
    -ONE SIN....MAKES US A SINNER.....AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR-
    (This is good news...for the human race)
    Because you have to be a sinner....to be saved!
    --------------------------------------------------
    -THE WAY A CHRISTIAN....WHO IS GUILTY.....IS DEALT WITH BY GOD-
    (With “conviction” and “chastening”:)
    Rather than....being sent to hell!
    ===============
    V.11
    -AN EXPLANATION....THAT WE DON’T’ DESERVE-
    (But God....gives it to us anyway:)
    ------------------------
    In Verses 11....God explains how verse 10 works:
    --------------------------------------------------
    God.....never has to explain Himself:
    But He sure does it a lot...in the Bible:
    And it’s great!

    V.11A “For he that said,”
    -THE LORD IS THE ONE....WHO MAKES ALL THE RULES-
    (Because He is the Creator:)
    ------------------------
    See Psalms 24:1-2
    V.1 ¶ A Psalm of David. The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof;
    the world, and they that dwell therein.
    V.2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

    God created us....therefore He can tell us what we aught to do:
    -----------------------------------------------
    And all of God’s laws....are for our own good!
    ===============
    V.11B “Do not commit adultery,”
    -AN AREA THE WORLD THINKS.....IS ONLY “THEIR BUSINESS”-
    (And therefore regularly....reject this instruction:)
    To their own destruction:
    --------------------------------------------------
    -SATAN’S BIG LIE......ABOUT THIS PRACTICE-
    As much as TV...tries to make it look fun:
    Promiscuousness...always destroys lives!
    ===============
    V.11C “said also, Do not kill.”
    -SOMETHING MOST OF THE WORLD....SEES AS WRONG-
    (Yet that doesn’t stop them...from doing it:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Then they make excuses for it:
    With abortion they say..... “It’s not a baby until it’s born”!
    With euthanasia they say..... “She had a full life and now is in pain”!
    ===============
    V.11D “Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill,”
    -THE SIN.....THAT EVERY ADULT.....IS GUILTY OF-
    (Every human being....is a murderer:)
    From the time....that we first learned to hate:
    --------------------------------------------------
    According to the way....God sees things!
    ===============
    V.11E “thou art become a transgressor of the law.”
    -THE END RESULT......OF CATEGORIZING SIN-
    (Regardless of how good.....we think we are:)
    We have all... “transgressed the law”:
    --------------------------------------------------
    Therefore....we all need to be saved!
    ===============
    V.12A “So speak ye,”
    -THE PLACE....WHERE EVERY PROFESSING CHRISTIAN...”IS”-
    (Saying....that they are saved:)
    ----------------------
    And that God....has changed them!
    --------------------------------------------------
    This is our profession!
    ===============
    V.12B “and so do,”
    -THE PLACE....WHERE EVERY PROFESSING CHRISTIAN....“NEEDS TO BE”-
    (“Doing” the things...that Christians should do:)
    --------------------------
    And proving.....that God has changed them!
    --------------------------------------------------
    How many friends and relatives do you know:
    That if you were asked...you would have to say:
    “I don’t know if they are saved, but they might be”
    ------------------------
    Doesn’t everyone...know that you are saved?
    ===============
    V.12C “as they that shall be judged”
    -THE LORD’S ANSWER.......TO THIS DISCREPANCY-
    (He will judge them:)
    At one.....of two judgements:
    --------------------------------------------------
    ➀Either the judgement seat of Christ:
    With every other Christian... 2 Corinthians 5:10
    ------------------------
    ➁Or the great white throne judgement!
    With every other lost person... Revelation 20:11
    ===============
    V.12D “by the law of liberty.”
    -THE RULE.....THAT UNSAVED HUMANITY WILL BE JUDGED BY-
    (God’s Word:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    This is the moment...that it really “pays off”:
    Not to be “under the law”!
    ===============
    V.13A “For he shall have judgment without mercy,”
    -THE BAD NEWS....FOR THOSE WHO REJECT THE GOSPEL-
    (Because that was “God’s mercy”...they rejected:)
    ------------------------------------------------
    Therefore they will face judgment...“without mercy”!
    ===============
    V.13B “that hath shewed no mercy;”
    -ONE OF THE CHANGES....SALVATION MAKES IN US-
    (It changes our heart.....in such a way:)
    That we will show mercy....to others:
    --------------------------------------------------
    This is part of the “real change”...Christ makes in us!
    ===============
    V.13C “and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
    -THE CHANGED HEART....IS READY FOR JUDGEMENT-
    (This is why we are looking forward to eternity:)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Because we have been....washed in the Blood!
    ------------------------
    See Psalms 32:2
    “Blessed [is] the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity,
    and in whose spirit [there is] no guile.”

    Does not apply to the Church as revealed to Paul.
    Applied to "the 12" Apostles prior to the revelation of the "mystery" Gentile Bride of Christ,
    and will have further future application to the Jewish disciples during the Tribulation.

    What doesn't apply to the church? The whole book or something in particular?

    The O.T., Gospels and Hebrew Epistles wherever they conflict with the Pauline Gospel of Grace alone.
    Gentiles little or no knowledge of the Law. When the Gospel of Grace was given to Paul it replaced the Disciples Gospel of Grace + Law.

    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
    it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.     Eph 2:8

    There really is only one "Law" for the Gentile and that is Love (agape) - not an "emotion" but an "action".
    It can be summed up in the phrase "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
    Charity - LOVE - suffereth long, and is kind 1 Cor 13:4a

    Hello beameup

    There is no conflict between Romans and James, as some people think.
    (Although both are talking about justification.)

    In Romans Paul was talking about “Justification before God”, while James is talking about Justification "before men”.
    --------------------------------------------------
    Faith indeed is all we need, to be justified before God(because He can see into our heart).
    But justification before men, requires good works; Because other men can’t see into our hearts.
    --------------------------------------------------
    This will become more clear, in the next few weeks in this series.
