Lady Eagle, those were not personal attacks but statements of fact and I am surprised that you take offense considering your own constant assaults on the GOP.

You keep saying that you are a Republican, etc. Well, that is what Joe Wilson says, too. So I guess that you are like Joe Wilson, huh? However, the fruits of your posts are constantly aimed at the GOP and are in error when you compare the GOP to the CP, which if you would be candid, LE, is your party home.

No, the Log Cabins Republicans don't ring a bell at my home--I don't entertain sodomites--but thanks for asking. I am sure that the Constitution Party has some sodomite members, also, aren't you?

Yes, Lady Eagle, the Republican politicians are all awful and only Peroutka--your hero--is worthy of consideration because he has called for capitulation in Iraq and withdrawal and because he agrees with Hugo Chávez. And as Pennsylvania Jim wrote in this section the other day, Evangelicals are so stupid and corrupt that they voted GOP--I suppose the point being that nice Fundamentalists are better than Evangelicals because they are more apt to vote for Peroutka, who declared the war in Iraq illegal and called for capitulation, and who agrees with Hugo Chávez that CAFTA is perverse, especially if it helps Indiana farmers.

The jury is still out on whether or not CAFTA helps Indiana farmers. The facts show that NAFTA didn't help Americans at all but instead sent American jobs overseas. The way politicians could have helped American farmers is by placing heavy tariffs on lettuce and broccoli, etc. from Mexico that are, incidentally, grown in human waste for fertilizer. You DO remember the green onion incident in Pittsburgh where people died from hepatitis gained by eating green onions from Mexico, don't you?

I have no idea who Hugo Chavez is or Joe Wilson, for that matter.

You are entitled to believe the "spin" that CAFTA will help Indiana farmers but time will tell whether it does or whether Indiana farmers continue to go bankrupt and lose family farms to Campbells.

No, I don't remember the green onions except vaguely. Grocery store ones are so-so in comparison to fresh ones anyway. My neighborhood has gone to the illegals. Anyone who doesn't like it can leave the country I guess. I am getting a little tired of Mexico being represented as the worst case in Latin America. Part of the promblem is the refusal of Catholics to lift the curse on birth control, but it would be a mistake to expect improvements from a militant anti-American European Catholicism.

Our politicians such as Dan Burton and Mike Pence thought CAFTA would help Hoosier farmers. One could hardly call Pence and Burton liberals so I don't think that the jury is out. Burton made things very clear:

    http://www.house.gov/burton/

The CP is so self-righteous in spite of their horrible platform and their very limited candidate who has never won an election. And the CP is always saying that the GOP politicians are sold-out and the GOP voters are sold-out. Someday the collective CP is going to break their collective arm patting themselves on their own collective back.

But then pre-trib theology makes for political thinkers who do not think about the worst because they have a verse that takes them out of extreme difficulty and they are unable to even imagine what it would be like if they were wrong. That is as illogical as that little backwater shark who calls for withdrawal from Iraq because it is illegal to be there because the little backwater shark says so. The end result of the little backwater shark's ideas would be more terrorism from the American-based sleeper cells.

CMG, we are going to have more terrorism from American-based sleeper cells regardless of what backwater sharks say.

I am not the only conservative who is disgruntled with the illegal alien situation. I guess if I don't like it, I can move illegally to Mexico and eat lettuce grown in human waste. Maybe I can start a movement to "force" them to speak English in their country and I can fly my little American flag around on my American car while I live in their neighborhoods. That's what we have here - illegals living in Middle Tennessee who don't speak English and fly their little Mexican flags on their vehicles.

But it's all okay - our leaders tell us they are only taking jobs Americans "don't want."

A lot of it boils down to whether your loyalty is to a philosophy or a bunch of party leaders.

Well, what real alternatives do we have? Many of us voted for Bush because the Democratic candidates presented are absolutely out of the question. But in truth, it seems like they ALL give lip service to draw votes, and then do what they like. As a farmer, I can tell you that both parties come around promising the sky, but never deliver. This is going on with all of the constituent elements that make up the body politic. Granted, it's difficult to battle the over-reaching judiciary, but realistically, the GOP isn't going to reduce or eliminate non-essential spending anymore than Roberts is going to strike down the evil of abortion once he's confirmed. There is too much entrenchment. My GOP congressman brings home just as much pork as the neighboring Democratic congressman does. The leaven has spread so thoroughly that, IMO, the only solution is to throw out the bread and start all over, but that's not going to happen either.

Until significant numbers of people refuse to vote for the bought and controlled candidates that the party bosses force on us, nothing will improve.

Vote for third party candidates who share your values in action, not just cheap and empty slogans.

Exactly. But Christians are content in going with the "lesser" of two evils, it seems... [IMG]

Oh, for the Boston Tea Party Days....they would roll over in their graves if they knew what had happened to the dream.
