The best and only certain way I have found to know what anyone believes is to go worship with them, granted, some we cannot, but having experienced their preaching, etc. there is no room left for wondering what is taught in that place.

I heard Paul Crouch give an explanation for the gold dust, and now gold bricks, that are falling from the sky. He said that the horses of the four horsemen of the apocalypse were pawing at the streets of gold.

it's so sad that God's construction business in heaven is soooo poor that the streets they built easily flake into dust. Here I thought heaven was a perfect place too!!! ;)

Seriously, does anyone know where this belief originated or what Bible verse, if any can even be found that this belief is backed upon? Do they even have a half backing for this beleif or does it just prey upon ignorance alone?

We have a local woman named Dr. Sandra Kennedy. She is the pastor of Whole Life Ministries. Recently she was on a local Christian television station we have trying to explain the gold dust, which she claims frequently falls in her Church. While on the air she began to excitedly proclaim that the gold dust was falling right here and now. The host of the show just could not see the dust but she refused to doubt her at the same time.

I like what Donna said earlier.... The streets in heaven are made of gold so does that mean God's kicking dirt in her face?

I've been in many pentecostal churches and most speak in tongues that I personaly disagree with. My wife at the apprpriate times speaks in tongue(languages) when we are ministering to people who speak spanish. On one occassion while me and a spanish pastor were ministering to an american women I was abke to convert more spanish into english and english to spanish than i had ever been able to before or since. That is my only personal experience with tongues. I do not consider myself charismatic at all. Mant false teaching on the working of the Spirit of God. No group I have fellowship with believes that tongues are the evidence of being saved. Worship service is lively and I have been known to dance. Anybody who tells me they have no idea what they did during worship I question the authenticity of their experience. Many false teaching out there but every pentecostal church you see is not oppossed to sound teaching. I invited a very good friend of mine who is a Baptist preacher o carry a revival in Jan. he was recieved the word accepted and no denominational fights broke out. He enjoyed the lively praise and worship service, and they in turn recieved the preched word.
However in the pentecostal churches I attend they do stress holiness. That being no adultery, fornication, drunkeness, gossiping, gay unions, or anything else that would not hold as proper conduct for a christian.

Most Charismatics do not believe that a person is not saved until the evidence of tongues or smome outward manifestation is seen. This is rather seen as a second work of grace.
By the way, anyone that truly redidicates their life to Jesus has a second work of grace which does away with the myth that we get everything that we are ever going to get from God at salvation. If that were true then it would be wrong to rededicate ones life.

Why does this cause division? </font>[/QUOTE]The Holy Spirit doesn't work the same today as He did in the first century in the sense that in the first century he worked through the Apostles and other early believers who had the gifts of the Spirit which we do not have today. Those gifts have ceased. God works differently at different times in history (Heb.1:1,2).

Rededicating your life to the Lord is not a so-called "Second Blessing." If you are saved, you have all of the Holy Spirit that you are going to have. He gave it to you when you got saved. We were indwelt with the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation. Rededication, or simple dedication is simply obedience to the Lord. You decide. The decision is all yours. You can dedicate your life as a life of obedience to the Lord, or as a servant to sin. What course will you take. The battle is in the mind. We are controlled by some nebulous undefined emotional experience which some attribute to the Holy Spirit. It boils down to submitting to Christ and His Word.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Your love for Christ will be demonstrated by your obedience to Him.

What you described in your post is the manifestation or evidence that is shown in the believer. I believe the greatest problem in all denoms today is that people have know idea what commandments to keep. your ref. to Jn 14:15 "If you love me, keep my commandments". If a person has no knowledge of Gods word how will they have the understanding to repent if there is no a set rule of moral conduct. In Jn 17:17 it states that we are "sanctified by the word" set apart from what to what? This adds a great deal of confusion in the body of Christ and sets the platform for false teachings on the holy spirit and its manifestations. There are a grat deal of pentecostals that do understand this in their live holy teachings. However in my fellowship Presb, luths,e episc, meth, and of course baptist no one is clear or in agreement on this issue. We compose arguments about manifestation and use of gifts and people don"t even know if they are saved.
