What Is Sin?

    In a sense, Jesus set a higher standard of obedience, beyond just keeping the law.

    Remember his teaching on adultery. He noted the the law says "Thou shalt not...." But here comes the higher standard. “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart .” Matt. 5:28

    Jesus places the thought on the same level of sin with the deed. You talk about an impossible standard.
