An informed person wouldn't have made that blanket statement about liberals, we don't take man's word over God's word, we take God's word over man's word. It's your interpretation that we are taking a different view over your view that causes you to assume we are getting our information or position from man. This is just plain being uninformed.

And what is this? I even defend you from what we both thought was a nasty post and you find out it's not about you and let it ride. You fruits are starting to show.

    That's great to hear, post-it!

Then you accept the six day recent creation, the reality of the world-wide Flood, Job, Jonah, and Joshua. You know there was a virgin birth as well.

That's quite a change for you!

I have a feeling that's not what you meant, though.

I have a feeling you are still depending on man's word about what the Bible means rather than accepting that it means what it is clearly saying.

And as long as you accept "the Bible REALLY means....." from men when the Bible itself is saying something in a very clear, straightforward way different from the interpretation being given it, then yes, you are depending on the word of man over the word of God.

I will stick by my statement, with the references involving just about all of yours and Joshua's posts. I have been very well-informed when reading them of your points of view. They are extremely liberal and depend on man's word over God's.

And upon all this hokey you decided to make it your vocation. Unbelievable. Did you ever thinke about selling used cars?

This "hokey" is simply a matter of accepting the Bible for what it is rather than trying to force it to be what my insecurities or doubts want it to be.

Yes Ps, for many (and perhaps most) Christians the Bible does not need to be perfect or inerrant or even unified for God and Jesus to be real.

    Joshua
    </font>
No, Joshua, it doesn't need to be for God and Jesus to be real, but it does need to be for us to know the reality of God and Jesus.

We are the creation and we have NO way of knowing the Creator except through what He has revealed to us about Himself. And if that is faulty, or faultily revealed, then we are stuck back with our own ideas and 'interpretations.'

There is, by the way, no such thing as a "literal interpretation". That is an oxymoron (self-contradicting statement). If you read for the literal meaning, you are not interpreting. If you are interpreting, you are denying the literal meaning and going with something else.

    Just wanted to mention that.

But God reveals Himself to us in the Bible: in its history, its mentioning of scientific facts, its personal testimonies via the poetry, and through its prophecies. If this revelation is somehow not accurate then neither is our understanding of God, and you have NO WAY OF KNOWING enough about either God or Jesus to believe in either with confidence or in knowing what -- if anything -- had really been done for your salvation.

When I joined this Board, "BAPTIST BOARD", by name, I thought that it would be good for me to learn from, and share some of the things I've learned.

For the most part, it is a good learning and teaching tool.

And there will always be dogma differences, and that we can all live with. Because a lot of dogmas are a matter of convictionand learning.

But now I know that Satan has been allowed to enter into this place, and has been using people who claim the name Baptist, who probably never believed in the Baptist Doctrines when they joined this board, to spread their evil and wicked doctrines to those who will easily swayed!

As I said in another post on another thread, the liberals and false teachers, and apostates don't start their own, they go after the conservative and infest it, till it becomes an abomination unto the Lord!

I think it is time for JUDGEMENTS TO BE MADE,BEFORE JUDGEMENT IS MADE ON US!

And we are commanded to JUDGE by the our Lord And Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Wherefore by their fruits, ye shall know them!

We are not to cast the pearls before the SWINE!

Justified, this is just stilly. The purpose of the post is to try and build understanding between one aspect of baptist life and another. It's not some satanic delusion, but a legitimate understanding of the nature of the Bible.

As for the name "baptist." I was ordained in a baptist church, endorsed by a national baptist endorsing body, and graduated from a baptist seminary. I have every bit as much right to the baptist name as you do.

We don't know the reality of God and Jesus. We see them at best through a glass darkly.

Helen, maybe Ps104_33 was trying to back up your posts, not insinuate you are the one being a false teacher.

So, to back up Helen's post, here's what I have to say about the intellectual elite and great liberal theologians of our day:

Romans 1:[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools..

Reprobate minds. Selah. (any great theologian should know what Selah means.)

    Justified,

It is the webmaster's choice to allow Baptists 'of all stripes' to be on this board, and I think that is important for this reason: It is only by confronting some of these false liberal doctrines right up front that we can help those whom the liberals confuse so much to understand what biblical doctrine is and that they can trust what they read in the Bible to actually be true and God's Word.

I remember being confused before. I am trying my best to confront these folk here and now so that anyone reading this will not be as confused as I was. So, for that reason, and that reason ALONE, I am willing to say, "Bring 'em on!" People need to see the arguments and the answers -- for me this is part of building up the body of believers and encouraging the saints.

    Joshua
    </font>
Joshua, there are many things I see through a glass darkly, but my Lord and God Jesus Christ is NOT one of them! He is personal and real and His Holy Spirit in my heart as well as my own prayer life and Bible study make Him starkly clear and real to me. Not complete, mind you, but VERY clear and VERY real! There is nothing muddy or unclear about my relationship with my Lord and my God.

    Helen,

It's not me that I'm worried about, or you, or SheEagle, or Ernie, or Granny, or farmers Wife, or any of the others. And I will contend for the Faith where I can, and for as far as my learning has gone, which is not much. I have learned much from these posts already.

My real problem, comes with the young teens and young Christians (like my children and others as well) who we are teaching good Baptist Doctrine to. But unfortunately, these False doctrines that are being posted could and probably will put cracks in their foundational Faith. And that scares me! :(

It seems that some who have posted do not believe that the bible we have today is accurate, let alone, be the Word of God. I am with Helen, either you believe it is God's word or you can through it away. It's that simple. If there is dought anywhere in the bible when you read it OR do research, then what part do you believe and what part do you throw away?

If you dought any part of the bible as being God's Word, then you have reason to dought all of it as MAN is the one who wrote it in the first place. To me, these writters of the Word were God inspired and even so today to those who "modernize" the orginal writtings.

I guess we can throw out the part about Jonah in the belly of a whale, OR Noah's Ark and many other bibical stories that our human logic says&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Hey, that's impossible! Nothing is impossible with God.

To carry it further, Is Jesus for real OR is this another far fetched story? These questions can go on and on to those who dought any part of the bible.

I feel those who believe as such are very liberal and believe modern man over the bible.

So,if you claim to be a Christian, how can youdought any part as being the truth? And, if you do dought, how do you know which is the part to believe? To pick and choose puts you in danger of not being a Christian even though you "think" you are. Why take the chance, to believe all will not cause you to do any wrong, even though we all are sinners.

    God Bless...............Alex

The Bible (KJB) which is The WORD of God, It doesn't contain the word of God but it IS the WORD of God.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalm 119:165

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 110:105

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35

Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life... John 5:39

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints, and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. Psalm 19:7,8

For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Proverbs 6:23

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Isaiah 40:8

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: II Timothy 3:16

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophesy, and keep those things which are written therein... Revelation 1:3

Father I thank you for my salvation, I thank you for your Christ's Victory on the cross and I thank you for your word.

Liberals can argue all they want, but as for me, I believe in the Lord and his word.

Oh Victory in Jesus, My Savior forever.

Post-it & Rev. Joshua are a good example to us. 1 Cor.8:1b describes them well. "Knowledge puffs up, but charity edifieth." Well they're not edifying anyone, but do seem to be a little puffed. Pride, arrogance , & rebellion is at the center of this topic. But they've been enlightened!!! We must be ignorant to believe the Bible is the actual Word of God. If we can't believe one part of the scripture we can't believe any of it. This is a book of faith and I believe it's God inspired. If it's not all good then none of it's good.

    Dear Justified,

Dont worry on two accounts. No one can defeat God.

Those whom He has chosen will come to Him.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

    Second, I believe it was Spurgeon who said ;
no one needs to defend the Word of God. It is like a lion, just turn it loose.

    Isaiah 55:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
