It's very difficult to condense life and death issues with eternal implications down much further.

Not only that, but according to Calvinism, God pre-selects people ......................

I agree ITL. But I believe one of the problems that Christians run into in sharing the Gospel is has been displayed in this thread.

YOU are the only person who has mentioned ANYTHING of God's love for people.

How is it that the people in the church can give all these definitions about what the Gospel is but all but one person leaves out or makes no mention of the most important element: the Love of Christ?

It is inexplicable. Especially in light of 1 John 3:16
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.

    and 1 John 4:7-9
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

    and Rev 1:5
5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,

AMEN and AMEN. I think the more we get out of our four walled churches and interact with people who aren't like us, the more we realize that people are just people. And the need to be loved and accepted is the driving motivation for the majority of the things that people do.

If the Love of Jesus and His forgiveness( of the sinner no matter what he has done wrong) that comes with that love is not foremost and most prominent in our explanation of the Gospel, have we really shared the Gospel of God?

Is it no wonder that the two Greatest Commandments center around Love and the One who is Love?

SAME one that Paul and the other Apostles taught/preached, that we are all sinners, none can get right with God by their own efforts/works, and that Jesus death was complete atonement/propiation God provided to save those intended to be saved by the Cross, so its by His death, and thru faith alone by that shed blood alone, sinners made right with God!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I wonder when God begin to love the world? When he determined he would give his Son? And why would there be a gospel?

saying, 'What do ye think concerning the Christ? of whom is he son?' Matt 22:42 YLT
but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and unspotted -- Christ's -- foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, 1Peter 1:19,20 YLT
And bow before it shall all who are dwelling upon the land, whose names have not been written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; Rev 13:8 YLT

Wonder if God knew something bad was going happen to what he was about to create and establish that would require to be reconciled unto himself?

I also wonder way God created Adam so that his life/soul was in the blood of him? Could that question be relative to the gospel?

Percho, I think those are wonderful questions to have with people who don't know Christ. A lot of times, those are the very questions they have and they want to know why? WHy would anyone give up their son for me? Why would a loving Father send His only begotten Son to die for me after all that I have done wrong?

The Gospel has to be about Jesus Christ's great love for us because that's what people are missing.

The lost lady prostituting on the street wants love.
The man visiting porn sites every day wants love.
The young man in the homosexual relationship wants love.
The young lady sleeping with her boyfriend wants love.
    The child molester wants love.
    The atheist wants love.
The worshiper of false gods wants love.

The Gospel is the story of Jesus's great love and forgiveness for us in spite of ANYTHING that we've ever done wrong.

It's that love that the woman who has had the abortion and she feels like she is all alone is looking for.

It's that love that the teenager who is about to take his life needs to hear about.

It's that love that the hungry family in war torn Sudan needs to hear about.

The Gosepl of God is a love story. Tell it in love and give those who are searching for love the only Hope they will ever need.

I just tried to read that as though I were a person who knew nothing of Christ and Christianity and it read like " ΙΔΙΑ αυτό που ο Παύλος και οι υπόλοιποι Απόστολοι δίδαξε / κήρυξε, ότι όλοι είμαστε αμαρτωλοί, κανένας δεν μπορεί να πάρει δεξιά με το Θεό με τις δικές τους προσπάθειες / έργα, και ότι ο Ιησούς ήταν ο θάνατος πλήρη εξιλέωση / propiation Θεός παρέχονται για να σώσει αυτούς που πρόκειται να σωθεί από ο Σταυρός, έτσι του από το θάνατό του, και μέσω της πίστης και μόνο από αυτό έχυσε το αίμα μόνο, αμαρτωλοί γίνονται με το Θεό"

DOn't have a problem witht he first part as it is Biblical and succinctly deals with the love that the Gospel is supposed to be about.

Never been a fan of telling folks to ask Jesus into their hearts as though we controlled it.

That is my point concerning, "the gospel."

There is, "good," in the world about us and there is also, "bad," in the world about us. Where does the good come from and where does the bad come from. Is the world waxing better and better or is it waxing worse and worse. When will it change. IMHO when Jesus comes to sit on the throne of his glory, in the kingdom of God. Currently God is calling out a people for his name to reign with Jesus. But the good news is at some point in time the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdom of our Lord and his Christ. Satan will be bound to deceive the nations no more. Christ will rule with righteousness.

This they said of Paul. Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus. Acts 17:7 because everywhere he went he preached: Acts 20:25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

Does Satan deceive the nations concerning the love of God through Jesus his Son? If they are deceived, then how can they believe?

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end (of this age) come. Matt 24:14

think we also must tell people that Jesus demands us to take up our Cross daily and follow him, as many of us just want Him to keep us from hell, but not to "mess with our lives"
