If I were given a choice of just one book in the Bible, I would choose Job. It has everything with which to live a godly life and including the hope of seeing God on the earth, face to face.

Cheers,

Jim

i would find it very hard to just have one book of the Bible. What about one book fom the Old and one from the New Testament...then i think i would have Psalms and Romans... [IMG]

Uh, oh.. Forgot the "why" part..

I Thessalonians...... It tells how to live, and especially about the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Proverbs...... Not directed FOR teenagers, I think this book has a impact on my life and seems to speak to me AS a teenager with the things that it talks about in its contents. I just love the books of the Bible!!

I love the book of Proverbs, and the book of Romans. Yes Jamie, I too feel like that book speaks to me. And I go through it once a month. I love it. It's full of wisdom, and it's very applicable for a teenager's life, but i guess an adult could say the same. That's why I love the Bible so. It's a living book.
I love Romans too, I was lead to the Lord through the book of Romans. I was reading from it just this afternoon, because I needed some incouragement. I was looking for this verse:
but found these:
And I needed these verses! Oh what a blessing they were to me today!
I love chapter twelve of Romans too. My friend, Nicole, laughed when she saw it. See, just about every other page of my Bible has verses highlighted and underlined, and there are notes all through out the marigns. Well this particular chapter, every verse is marked, and specific parts are underlined or circled. I've got notes i've written in going up and down the page.
And it's simply becuase those verses have taught me so much, and been such a comfort.
But I think all the Bible is precious, and important, inspired by a holy God.

I agree with Proverbs...... My youth pastor is teaching out of a book called "The teenage years of Jesus Christ" by Jerry Ross. It is so good... It shows me sooo many verses in Proverbs that either 1) never realized they were there or 2) never comprehended them in that matter. I love the Bible!!

8. To tell you the truth, I don't think I could pick my favorite book in the Bible. But if I were maybe Hebrews or Psalms. Because of the better covenant we see in Hebrews and the many wonderful Psalms which give us hope and peace. I am glad we do not have to do with just one book of the Bible.
The Bible is perfect and complete in all 66 books.

Job and Esther... both were in situations really beyond their control and yet God uplifted them through it. Esther especially is good for me as I'm female, however Job was the first book I read all the way through when I got saved. [IMG] So it has a special place in my heart.

in the NT I love Romans. [IMG] Don't really know why LOL

Yeah, I really like the book of Esther too. Though I don't believe the word "Christ, or God" is mentioned once, it is a beautiful type of Christ!

My favourite is the Song of Solomon.

The best poetry ever written! Great for married couples. My wife and I read it all the time. ;)

Hmm, in looking at my post again, I should have noticed that this is the Youth Forum. My comment may have been a bit too "risque" for the forum, so I am correcting myself.

Here is a better post:

The Song of Solomon is my favourite. It is a great book for married couples, which celebrates the love and honour that a man and woman have for each other. It shows such love in a holy light, and emphasises that the attraction that a married couple have for each other is something blessed and sactioned by God.

13. Wow, RebelBaptist, that is an interesting post you have there. I am not sure that would be sanctioned in the adult column either. Song of Solomon is a great book and as inspired as any of the others. But it still is funny that you picked that one to put in the youth forum. I think I will be more carefull about adding "why" to the topics I start. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
I like the symbol. [><] I have some friends who if they used computers much would love to know about that symbol. [IMG]

ugh the Song of Solomon (my pastor loves to refer to it as SOS LOL!) has two "strikes" against it for me... it's a book of "poetry" and it's set on marriage... don't get me wrong I plan to get married one day... but I'm sooooooooo sick of hearing people in my church say that's what I really need to get ready for now that I'm graduating from highschool  I want out of the house... but I'm not ready to submit to a HUSBAND yet! LOL [IMG]

Unashamed youth, LOL! You get that too? {Honestly there's a woman at my church who has my wedding planed...to HER son...yet she dosn't realize neither of us can tolerate the idea...now if I could just get that across to her... :confused: :eek: [IMG] }
I read trough the Song Of Solomon several times, but I've always taken it as Christ's love toward the church. I love this verse: I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.
You know, it's easy to understand our love for Christ, He saving us and giving us a new life, home in HEaven forever, forgiving us of sin even after He saves us,and so much more, but the thought that my Saviour loves ME, and wants ME close to Him, well that's to great for me to comprehend! He's altogether lovely and perfect, and me with my constant mistakes, failures, and HE loves me, and wants ME close to Him!
