    I agree amigo.

My favorite is guava. You can either put guava jelly on toast or, better yet, just have a guava pastelito in the morning. The key to a great pastelito is the texture. It has to be soft, chewy, and flaky all at the same time.

In the evening, you put guava paste with cream cheese on crackers. Good stuff!

I like Blackberry Jam. I have made it lots of times, but not in the last couple of years.

I would also vote for lemon curd, especially on a scone!

I realize how I should have done this poll so will start part 2. If you are just coming here, please go to the other poll, which I'll call Favorite Jam or Jelly, Part 2.

I prefer preserves, but like so many other things I like, I can't afford it.

Blackberry jam. My granny used to make it from the berries we would pick in the field beside our house. Good times, good times.

I like strawberry jam &/or preserves.

I don't know if anyone can remeber the old Polaner's All Fruit commerical, but I thought that was so funny. Everyone there is referring to it as "All Fruit". Then this southerner says, "Will you please pass the jelly?" in a very strong southern accent. One of the women also passes out because he called it "jelly".

Whenever I make my pilgrimage to Gulf Shores, there's a place there called Lambert's. They have an in-house apple jelly that's awesome. We always come back with a ton of it.

I had to go with blackberry jam, but peach preserves is my favorite.

I make homemade GRAPE jelly and jam each year. I also make APPLE BUTTER because we love it!!!

By making it myself, I can eliminate the sugar since DH and I are both diabetic. It's delicious when made with Splenda. :)

Clearly, I left out a lot of favorites!

But you can only do up to 10 options. I included some that apparently are not very popular. And my tastes change - I chose apricot for myself but now I am reverting back to strawberry, which has the most votes so far.

Poncho, how interesting that you should mention red currant jelly. I have a very old recipe (1940's) of my mom's for Currant Jelly Cookies that are made with red currant jelly. They are made with real butter and are my favorite cookie in the world.

They would not be the same without the red currant jelly.

I picked orange marmalade as my favorite jelly. There is a British made orange and tangerine marmalade that is so good, I spoil myself and order it online (it's very expensive). Orange marmalade is a British breakfast staple and all the American made marmalades I've tasted do not compare. The British also have flavors of marmalade we Americans have never heard of (lemon marmalade and grapefruit marmalade) which are delicious as well.

    Strawberry is my favorite -

Mostly because I won a blue ribbon (and 3 bucks) on mine at the local county fair.

And I only got a white ribbon (and one dollar) on my apple jelly. :tear:
