In addition, God made it impossible to keep the law because in AD70 the temple was destroyed, the levitical priesthood was killed and/or scattered.

Biblical Judaism ended at that time until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

I believe the only reason freeatlast would want to return to these barbaric laws is so he can beat his children and possibly get the opportunity to stone someone to death. Perhaps he should move to Saudi Arabia, he would fit in nicely. :tongue3:

 

God's laws were given to specific people at a specific point in time for specific situations.

Jesus elevated those laws--making it clear it wasn't about keeping the letter of the law, but rather the spirit of the law.

He dealt far more kindly with sinners (lawbreakers) than He did with holier than thou Pharisees.

No, I wouldn't want to live under the OT laws because God's revelation of Himself has progressed to a far higher plane under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

 

All of God's laws are good, but I wouldn't want to live under them because they cannot save you.

Paul spoke of the Gentiles who have not the law, but by nature do those things contained in the law. I am assuming Paul meant the Ten Commandments only. I have no problem with this, I think we should still obey these laws as long as a person understands that keeping these laws will not save him. They are wonderful laws and the world would be a great place if everyone followed them.
