What Special Interest Group gave Democrats $35 Million?

Do you know which special interest gave more money to the Obama campaign than any other?

If you guessed "trial lawyers" -- well, okay, that's too easy. But can you guess which special interest came in second?

Labor unions? Nope. The Green Lobby? Nope. AARP? Wrong, again. NEA? Nyet.

Give up? Okay, here's the answer: Wall Street.

That's right. According to CNNMoney.com, Wall Street securities and investment firms gave over $35 million to Democratic candidates this election cycle. And the amount they gave to the Obama campaign was nearly five times the amount they gave to McCain.

If you've been wondering why the financial industry is in meltdown -- and taking your 401(k) or investment portfolio down with it -- now you know.

Let's face it: The former frat boys who populate Wall Street today understand economics about as well as the pinko professors whose courses they snored through.

That's why betting their entire industry on "subprime" loans to people with no jobs and no collateral made sense to them -- and why betting the entire U.S. economy on the likes of Obama makes sense to them now.

These jokers don't even know what's in their own self-interest, much less yours. Trusting them with your money is like trusting Bill Clinton to babysit your underage niece.

Special interest groups own the democrat party.

It's payback time and it's gonna be expensive, perhaps even bankruptcy for a nation.

What's wrong about that picture is Obama hasn't been President during this meltdown or the bailout. George Bush is the President and must take responsibility for what has happened during HIS presidency.

Special interest groups own the Republican Party, too. Each party has its own base.

And what your statement omits is that Obama was in the running for pres, and he was still a member of the Senate. The bailout became part of his campaign when it was being sold to everyone like an urgent fire alarm activation...... and he didn't hesitate to vote for a bill for which he will later state he was fully informed...... Well. Duh! Whoes job is that, Senator?
I will remember and so will many others..... the chance a young influencial senator had to thouroughly acquaint himself with a bill which might majorily effect the economy during his own presidency.... and how casually and unstudiously he cast both his vote and his influence for it!

More and more, the bailout passed is beginning to look like a taxpayer reimbursement for corporate and banking investiments in politics: The elite not only chose our candidates for us.... but they figured out a way during an economic downturn, how to turn a campaign dollar from the tax payer's pocket to win elections.

Are there any other Senators other than Obama? How many voted for the bailout? Frankly, I think Bush had put us in such a desperate situation a bailout was really necessary. The real problem has been in its implementation under (Bush man) Paulson. He's a disaster as are most other members of the current administration.

I surely would never use Anne Coulter as a person to obtain financial advice from. Statements such as this simply show she ... or you haven't a clue. And, I surely hope Anne and you are not doing your own investing on Wall Street. If you are, and you believe what you just quoted I can see why your investments are tanking. I am not saying this in jest but am very serious.

I have said for years that if you are going to invest on wall street you have to do your own research and analysis and make your own decisions. It is just like life, if you are going to make money investing you have to work at it, and I mean work on a daily basis.

Such comments as above may be cute and gain some attention, but in the long run they simply show ignorance.

Now there's appreciation, Obama supported the GOP president when he said the end of the world was on the horizon and this is the thanks he gets? We could have done like during the Hoover years and let the GOP take us into another great depression but the Liberals decided to bail them out.

Now don't forget, what the Liberals voted to do was give money to George and Hank. They have been the ones handing it out without as much as a receipt.

I remember ONE SENATOR who was belittled for wanting to take time to discuss the bailout situation and the legislation before rushing to vote:

I can remember ONE SENATOR who was ridiculed as not having anything significant to offer................ and how could he, if he, as one person, is the only one present with doubts or questions within a group whose mind is already made up on legislation which has been premeditatedly planned by design to push through congress with verbal threats ......... oy yea...... and cash to wax the skids.

Wasn't that ONE SENATOR in support of the bailout and was trying to get GOP support? I remember that being why he suspended his campaign. He needed to get the GOP on board so the legislation would pass...

    Why are you shouting?

    Was she offering financial advice?
If she was, I must have missed it.

I guess you didn't see my note in another thread saying I was going to use a bigger size. The small one bothers my tired, old eyes. Not shouting...just reading.

She had made her money from conservatives by being a radical political writer. I could not do what she has done to make a living as I could not live with myself by telling such lies. She has to be intelligent to write well, but that does not mean she is logical nor honest.

I doubt she does her own investing. In fact I'd give you odds on that.

Am I as rich as Ann C. .... gee, I don't have any idea. I have no idea if she spends more than she takes in or not. Do you have any idea what her net worth is? I don't.

I do believe my life is richer than hers. I can see no redeeming value in what she writes.

    Quotes from Coulter:
Tell me are these statements by Coulter rational? I think not.

She has more money than I, so if she were to talk about it, I would listen. I wouldn't dismiss her just because I don't like what she says on other subjects.

I think you just said it to bash on Coulter. Talk about irrational.
