Or, if you do not believe that Jesus will literally return to the earth, please explain why...

I'm not sure if this is in response to the postmil threads or not, but to be clear, postmils believe in the literal future return of Christ.

The answer to your question is this. God the Father told God the Son to sit at his right hand until all of his foes are made his footstool.

That is what Christ is going to do. When the world is largely conquered by the Gospel, THEN Christ will return.

from a premill, pretrib position, it is God's own choice as to when Jesus will return. There are no triggers on earth.

Interesting that no one has posted a single verse of Scripture...

I believe that the Gospel will be preached to the ends of the earth...
BUT, I believe that it will be done by 144,000 genetic Israelites
that have the gift displayed in Acts 2 - instantly knowing any language,
    tongue or dialect.

I just returned from 6 years in the Philippines. I have been in areas
where basically "stone age" (negritos) live. There are hundreds of
such small tribes scattered all over the Philippines, each having their
own "dialect" and no written language whatsoever. These people were
NEVER reached with the Gospel, even by the Spanish who controlled
the Philippines for hundreds of years. They will be reached during the
Great Harvest of the first half of the "Tribulation" (3 1/2 years).
