You got on a bus. At the next stop a "Middle Eastern looking man" got on the bus with a brief case. He gets off at the next stop but leaves the brief case on the seat. You are the only one who notices this. What would be your reaction?

I hope that I would remember to say my last prayer.

I'd do the same if anyone left behind his briefcase/package/purse/knapsack - I'd shout,"Excuse me, you forgot your [briefcase|package|purse|knapsack]" and try to return it to him. Most people are not terrorists, even "Middle Eastern looking" men.

Me, too. There probably wouldn't be time to tell the bus driver.

I would speak up and try to remind the person to take his briefcase. If he continued I would inform the bus driver, get off of the bus, then contact the police department.

Someone said that most people aren't terrorists. That is correct, but some people are. It only takes one to blow up a bus. Everyone should be on the lookout for anything unusual, to include a bag left somewhere. If everyone made an effort to observe their surrondings we would be much better off.

    Daisy,

I couldn't help but look at the "from" notes on these posts, and was thrilled to see that the first person to react calmly was a New Yorker. [IMG]

I thought Ken's response was fairly rational and calm, and he is from Arkansas. It took a conservative Arkansan to get it right first... :D

I could simply give the briefcase to Daisy since she is willing to return it to him.

    Or

Does he look like someone from this link?
    http://www.fbi.gov/mostwant/terrorists/fugitives.htm

I would shout at the top of my lungs, “STOP THE BUS, BOMB, EVERYBODY OFF, NOW!” I would keep my eye on the man who left the briefcase as he walked away. I would then run up to him and inform him he forgot his briefcase. If he thanked me and seemed calm etc. I would take full responsibility for the delay in everyone’s day and fear I caused. If he seemed sketchy and ran I would tackle him and do a Citizen’s arrest. [IMG]

Yup. A "calm" reaction may lead to somebody "calmly" cleaning up yer body parts.

If a man of middle eastern descent left a package on a bus, there would probably be little time to react. Self-preservation would be my order of the day.

Mind you, if I saw a man of middle eastern descent on my bus with a package, my eyes would never leave him.

    I never take the bus.

If a middle eastern man got in my car with a package, I would shoot him. :D

If any man, Middle Eastern or not, got in my car without my permission, I would shoot him. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
