to your church if you were to leave it?

Today is my last Sunday in mine. I knew when I joined that I'd not be staying forever as I'd prayed over and over for God to get me out of Ohio, so I tried my best to be as distant as possible and not get close to anyone so leaving wouldn't be hard, and because I'd been burned in a previous church and was scared.

It still was tough. People were testifying as to what they're thankful for and I'd meant to make a small comment, but as I listened to everyone's thoughts I was tearing up. Especially when the girls Sunday School teacher stood up and said hers and mentioned how hard it was to have some of her kids moving away. That teacher and her husband both reached out to me when I started going there and despite my intentions I can't help but love them.
There are a few things I'd like to say tonight, but don't think I can do it without getting emotional so knowing me I'll go tonight and sit there and then go home.

Have you ever left a church? What were your thoughts? What did you say? What WOULD you say? I've never felt this way about a church before so it's a new experience for me to care about leaving, and quite frankly I was suprised at myself for feeling as strongly as I did today. That's not normal for me!

Or better yet tell them what you just told us. How you really feel.

Not sure. If I had to be negative, I would just leave.

Sometimes, you say See ya later. And you do.

If I were leaving and it weren't a problem with the church I think I'd just tell my Sunday school class and a few friends. If there were a problem with the church I think I'd talk with the pastor, and just tell a few friends I was leaving, nothing about why.

I would be gracious. By the time it came to leave, there will be evidence to all that this was God's moving.

Any "problems" would be dealt with long time previous to last day.

POB, asking out of curiousity and not for advice since I already passed up my chance to say anything to the church as a whole this morning!

I'm kinda glad I didn't get ahold of a mike anyhow. I woulda started preachin!

We're having lunch with the pastors wife tomorrow, so maybe I'll simply record a sermon and give to her to play in church.

I think I would just tell them what a blessing they had been to my family and me ad that we would always cherish the memories.

We left, w/o saying anything, didn't want to go against the pastor.

2nd time, we left, didn't say anything, didn't want to disrupt the church and their new pastor who doesn't know what the Bible is.

3rd time, we left, the pastor wanted to let his son be a hatemonger, racially, but he himself wanted to gossip with other hirelings/pastors. Though i still did not go against the pastor, wejust left!

My Chrisrtian duty is to be a peacemaker, not a troublemaker

Well, a couple of times, I didn't even know that it was my last Sunday, so I was just my normal self. The last time, I was moving to AK so I said goodbye to everyone and gave everyone hugs (also, the youth group that I was working in as a leader threw me a surprise going away party, so that was fun!!!)

Have never left a church for bad reasons, just because it was God's leading. I am 46 and have been a memeber of 3 churches my entire life. When I left our last one I thank the teachers and pastoral staff for my spiritual growth and the trainning my kids had recieved at their hands. Thank God for em and said we will meet again.
