    What's behind Trump's striking reversal on the coronavirus timeline?

    President Donald Trump on Monday optimistically declared that “it’s going to be a month of achievement” for the country even as he asked the extended strict social distancing guidelines for another month as the nation stares down the sober reality that 100-200 thousand Americans could die from the virus.

    “Nothing would be worse than declaring victory before the victory is won. That would be the greatest loss of all,” Trump told reporters Sunday in the Rose Garden.

    The president’s decision amounted to a striking reversal from his rosy projection last week that parts of the country could be allowed to “reopen” by Easter Day on April 12. His shift was accompanied by a figurative sigh of relief from the nation’s top public health experts who had warned of the potential for the death toll to soar if restrictions were loosened too soon.

    Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s foremost infectious disease expert, said the president’s decision came about after he had “intensive conversations” with members of the coronavirus task force.

    “We convinced him. He listened,” Dr. Fauci told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos in a Monday interview on “Good Morning America.”

    "If we can hold that down, as we're saying, to 100,000 -- that's a horrible number -- maybe even less, but to 100,000; so we have between 100- and 200,000 -- we all, together, have done a very good job.

    We also have the facts that up to 2 million die if we did nothing, and why bash on Trump for changing his mind, Obama and Biden do that all of the time? He just was reacting to His medical counselors and to new information coming in!

    I don't know what's behind Trump's "striking reversal" on the timeline, except that it's not striking and it's not a reversal - he just extended the time frame.

    I think I know what's behind this article, this tread, and the DNC/MSM in general:

    they want to lay the groundwork for "Trump bungled the handling of the virus and MILLIONS DIED as a result!" to try to impeach him for that. Like everything else they've done, it'll backfire in their collective faces.

    There are a lot of uncertainties when we walk down an unexplored path.
    Those that lead the way have a general direction but few clues as what path to take
    As more information is revealed the path becomes a bit clearer.

    With something as uncertain as this virus, there are a lot of unknowns. The information changes weekly, almost by the day.

    It is okay to be wrong. The information initially was quite spotty. It’s not okay to stay wrong.
    A great leader will be able to go with the flow and will not be stuck in a rut of a previous information-poor decision.

    But perhaps one of Trump’s most disturbing steps came Wednesday, when the president, who claims to be a Christian, tweeted quotes of and therefore validated radio host Wayne Allyn Root’s words that “the Jewish people love [Trump] … like he’s the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God.”

    Christians believe and profess that the only true “King of Israel” is God, as clearly stated in Isaiah 44:6, and that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, into this world. That makes the description of Trump as “the second coming of God” shocking, blasphemous and sacrilegious.
